Israeli intel officers sent to Mumbai United Press International
Published: Nov. 28, 2008 at 1:14 AMOrder reprints | Feedback MUMBAI, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Israel, concerned about its nationals trapped or missing in terrorist-ravaged Mumbai, has sent intelligence officers to India, Haaretz newspaper reported.
Separately, The Jerusalem Post quoted Israeli officials as saying the Indian counter-terrorist forces are well trained but sufficient intelligence was not gathered before engaging the terrorists.
Indian military and police commandos, who have been battling the terrorists since they went on their killing spree Wednesday, concentrated their operation Friday on freeing hostages held by the gunmen at the Chabad House, a Jewish center in the fashionable and upscale Nariman Point. The place, among other buildings owned by the Jewish community, is a favorite of Israeli tourists.
Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak also offered security, intelligence and humanitarian aid to India

Now there's irony for ya. One of the world's largest countries being offered humanitarian aid from one of the world's tinyest.
I would venture that there are probably villages in India with more people in them than all of Israel.

I’ve been following the Twitter traffic and they are reporting that the Jewish house has been freed by Israel Commandos and Indian defense forces. Dunno how confident I am in the information, but it has been reported by several sources on the ground there.
Why would an intelligence operation designed to save lives be in the media as it progresses? Oh wait.....this is the same media that is over and above normal human life and all things beneath them are subject to reporting, regardless of the consequences.
i hope when this happens in America that there are enough private citizens armed w/ CCW permits to take immediate surprising action against them.
I believe this is only the beginning, that was a practice run.

Personally, I’d like to see more armed guards at malls on days such as today.
I try to avoid likely terrorist targets, for example when I drive to the Northeast, I prefer 81 North to the PA turnpike, rather than take the tunnel in Wahington on 95, no thanks
