President-elect Barack Obama has spoken with the Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice over phone to get an update on the situation in Mumbai.
It is said that Obama received an intelligence briefing on the terror attacks in Mumbai in which 127 people were killed so far.
Obama is spending Thanksgiving Day in Chicago at his home town but is receiving regular situational updates from the State Department Operations Center and the National Counter Terrorism Center.
The President-elect, aides say, continues to monitor the situation closely and appreciates the cooperation and information sharing from the Bush administration.

I didn’t vote for Obama and I still don’t like it that he won. It stinks. Having said that, he does need to be apprised that President George Bush is still the POTUS. However, beyond that, I will give him that he does need to be up to speed on current crises and affairs in the country and the world prior to taking the office of President in January. (I know to the MSM it seems like FOREVER and they are chomping at the bit. Hee Hee Hee Hee. They’ll all just have to wait, just like kids for Christmas.)

“There is no President elect.”
Technically, he might be considered “president elect” after the Electoral College meets and elects him - certainly not now, and there is no such thing even then as the “Office of the President Elect”.
Right now he may hold the Office of Pompous Ass, or something similar. He is not even a good Senator.
