Obama Should End The Birth Certificate Controversy

The question of whether Barack Obama was actually born in Kenya thus disqualifying him to run as a presidential candidate will not go away. It is like the little mushrooms that appear every morning under the tree, they keep coming back. What should the president-elect do?

It is not fair to label those who want answers as racists, disillusioned right-wingers, conspiracy nuts or any other convenient appellation thereby asking them to simply shut up. Lawsuits filed to require that an official vault document be produced have come from African-Americans, democrats and a host of constitutionally concerned citizens.

In fact one You Tube offering about the matter garnered 750,000 views alone and the total viewing of videos and articles on the subject is somewhere near 3 million to date.

The problems with the birth certificate offered on the extreme left Web site the Daily Kos and a few other Internet sites are too many to ignore. The short list is first that the document is not signed. Secondly, it has no seal. Third, is that the security border doesn't match similar documents from the same time period. Other objections are that the race of Mr. Obama's father is listed as African. In the early '60s the State of Hawaii listed African- Americans as Negroes.

What is missing from the document is the doctor's signature and physical characteristics at birth that every original birth certificate reveals.

Some interested party's have submitted the internet document to the scrutiny of Adobe and graphic experts who all agree the document is highly questionable or a complete fraud. Is it? Who knows at this point? What is far more intriguing is the resistance being thrown at uncovering the true vault document. This is what is spawning suspicion and doubt.

Attorney Philip Berg has filed a writ of certiorari that should force the president-elect, the DNC and co-defendants to produce the document in accordance with law. Ambassador Alan Keyes has pending suits and a total of 17 others are submitting their quests to various levels of state courts.

Here are the important reasons President-elect Obama should cooperate and put the whole matter to bed as quickly as possible.

Because he can. With a simple request to the Hawaii Bureau of Vital Statistics he can quash all doubt and get on with his administration.

He will remove the suspicions of millions of Americans, republicans, democrats and independents alike. If ignored it could cause a constitutional crises unlike anything ever seen in this country. It would make questions of chads and incomplete voting cards look like a kindergarten problem by contrast.

It will indicate that Mr. Obama means business when he takes the oath of office and declares that he will uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States. It will give confidence to many of his opponents who may not agree with all his policies, but want to know that he is a completely honest man with the country's best interest in mind.

It would put to rest the assertion that he is an elitist. All Americans must submit proper documentation of birth to get Social Security cards, driver's license, security clearance and passports. He should be willing to carry out the first and the least of all his campaign promises contained in the slogan "Yes, we can." In America we can and according to law "we must."

We will all sleep better at night!
It is a surprisingly simple matter to make it all go away but it is presently entrenched in court battles and suspicion. In a full page ad in the Washington Times Nov. 17, 2008 three questions are asked. Was Barack Obama born in Kenya? Is he really a citizen of Indonesia? Does the Constitution still matter?

Good questions, we're listening.

James, you've been chiming in on these threads for a good while now, so I'm just curious as to why you're not actually absorbing all of the concrete realities and facts presented here.

The only statement you made above that is even partially true is that the state of Hawaii has a birth certificate on file for Obama, and even that one is not precisely accurate.

Why not spend some time really digesting the facts as presented, and the very well-formed arguments expressed here, instead of continuing to post falsehoods?

This is the basis for one of the suits; the one to Justice Thomas that is to be conferenced on Dec. 5. The suit from the retired attorney from New Jersey asked his state's Sec. of State if she had seen Obama’s birth certificate, and was he actually qualified. She said, “no”; she thought someone before her had verified that he qualified as a “natural born citizen”. What concerns me about this is will the justices conference on who is to verify a candidate, or on whether Obama actually qualifies.

There is another suit that was brought before Justice Souter (I think). This suit was dismissed, but Obama or his campaign has to show by Dec. 1 that he qualifies (produce the birth certificate). It may be that the decision of that suit will affect the one of Dec. 5. If Obama stalls or refuses to reply/comply to Justice Souter’s decision, then what?

Not at all. The people who ultimately determine his qualifications are the Electors in each state.

Saying a "Certificate of Live Birth" is "on file" is NOT the same thing as releasing the information contained in said certificate (such as WHERE the birth took place).

Hawaii law means squat. It is up to Obama to prove his qualifications meet the requirements for "natural born citizenship". And any of the Electors who file suit (or are included as part of a suit) have "standing" to sue.

If it is apparent beyond reasonable doubt that Hussein is not a natural born citizen, then we must look to any and all legal and constitutional actions to deny him the presidency. If the constitution of the US is not worth defending against mob rule, then nothing is. If we wish to preserve the republic, than we had best let the chips fall, and then sort them out. By whatever means necessary.

We who value the constitution will not allow the moral emphasis of this argument to be inverted. All this speculation, correct or not; has come about because this lying crypto-marxist thug from the most corrupt environs of leftist Chicago sewer politics has ascended to POTUS-elect status with the willing aquiescence of the MSM. The MSM was hell-bent on concealing this usurper’s background because they wanted him to be elected. Now, in a classic case of blame the messenger, those of us who belive in the constitution are being reviled for insisting that a POTUS comply with a basic requirement that most of us unhesitatingly conform with when seeking a driver’s license.

The arrogance and effrontery of this lying bastid is breathtaking. The founders knew that they were not natural born citizens, so they had to include language in Art II Sec 1 that exempted THEM. Does this fraud think that he is better than Washington, Madison, Adams, and Jefferson in that sense? Apparently he does, and with the acquiesence of enough people, he will suceed in usurping and corrupting the Executive Branch of government. This situation presents the very real posssibility of impelling this great nation beyond a constitutional crisis toward a civil war.

Finally, consider the implications of a man who would undertake these devious machinations to knowingly assume an office that he has no constitutional claim to, and than to see this same counterfeit president elect take an oath to defend that constitution. I believe that such a man would be willing to impose ANY sort or despotism or tyranny upon us to retain power.

You are required to be a US Citizen to get a passport. No one is questioning that he is a citizen. But to be POTUS, you must be Natural Born.

No, his father was not a US Citizen. In order for his mother to transfer “Natural Born” status to him, she must have been in the US for 10 years, 5 of which over the age of 16. She was only 18 when Obama was born, therefore she could not transfer her citizenship to him if he was not born in the US territory. She could of course get him citizenship later based on her status, but that does not make him Natural Born.

Now they are questioning his Selective Service Registration as just done this year. If he was a dual citizen with Kenya (as he admitted on his website) until the age of 21, was he required to register with the selective service at 18?

Hmmmm, people want to know.
