Followup on social networking censorship experience (Plenty of Fish)
plentyoffish.com ^

Posted on 11/26/2008 9:53:30 AM PST by dascallie

I posted within a political thread on this supposedly all-views welcome free social networking site--did it in a straight-forward, no insults manner, just the facts (Polarik, SCOTUS, all that) I was banned by the mod who sent me this AM:

>>Read and comprehend ! As your views have ZERO TO DO with anything, there are forum protocols to follow in a debate/discussion. You are suspended, you are given the length of time and why and what corrective action to do to ensure it doesnt happen again.<<

"ZERO TO DO with anything" OMG LOL

A member ( that I do not know) that appreciated the Obama BC content I posted just wrote me this:

"Just because I posted in that thread that I enjoyed your posts, I got banned for 2 days from posting!!

Is that the dumbest, most idiotic thing or what?!!!!

Yet all the left-wing haters can post all they want.

So someone saw my post saying I appreciate your posts, and went crying to the moderator.

Idiotic."

Seeing that the “left wing” is the nearly exclusive domain of the sad, the ignorant, and the mostly undesirable, why would you expect an “on line dating site” which is mostly populated by the above, to be any different?

Sad to say, but it’s their forum to do with as they see fit. Spend more time here if you want or go to some forum where free speech really matters. Just stop going there and thanks for letting the rest of us know about another leftard site to avoid.

This http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2138589/posts really required a follow-up thread?

Wouldn’t it have made a lot more sense to just add a comment?

Weeks ago, there wer articles about what Obama is going to do with his 1.5 million internet workers. Well, it is now obvious they have taken over many sites to squelch out any anti-obama or conservative views. The City Data.com forums which I used to post at, are inundated with them now as well. I don’t post there anymore.

Just did want it to get lost in the shuffle...my point was I did this as a type of “social experiment”.

That site is symbolic of lots of websites—lots of influence to millions of people.

This one has hundreds of discussion forums and many thousands of members globally...I went into the forums, under a political context and wanted to seed some awareness.

I had no idea there was a soviet style hostility and censorship....even to penalize readers with suspension that agreed with my post.

Please try and grasp the larger point I am trying to illustrate.
Thanks

For the record, when people normally say “Orwellian” they really MEAN Stalinist. And by Stalinist, I do NOT mean “by orders from Joseph Stalin”, rather the self-directed actions by those who SERVED Uncle Joe Stalin in the West.

Seeing such actions firsthand is what turned George Orwell off of Socialism and made him speak out against the evils of Stalinism.

And we still have to deal with these evil fools who preach sedition against Western governments.

Orwell was a confirmed socialist until the day he died. But he was not a communist. Personally, I think had he lived long enough to visit to the US to see how the capitalist system worked here, he might have changed a lot of his socialist opinions. But he didn’t.

If you really, really want to see the Left in action, go to Craigslist forums, and click on “politic” it will boggle your mind about how vile, trite and downright disgusting the Liberals are. They laugh at dead children (abortions) and HATE Christians.

Some are very intelligent, but very, very angry and super pro-Democratic/gay/abortion/open borders/socialism/anti-military...

He did write about the actions of Stalinist in the US and UK who had lots of criticism of their nations and leaders during WWII but never a suggestion that anything was wrong in what proud Uncle Joe Stalin did in Mother Russia.

They engaged in horrible tactics to bully those who were unfaithful to Stalinism. They published biased news.

You can read it from Orwell’s own pen in a “deluxe” 50th anniversary edition of Animal Farm. It includes several forwards or afterwards that were written by Orwell for international editions (one of which may not have been published in his life time, if I recall the other was for a Hungarian edition).

Obama cabinet vetting process the most rigid on record (November 20, 2008)

Obama needs to know details of gun ownership- make, model, serial number, “registration number” whatever that is, and whether or not it was ever used to hurt anyone.

He also demands to know all of your email addresses and online user IDs and what forums you use.
