We are running low on supplies - food etc maybe i should just go to the store and purchase some essentials .

I haven’t read the whole thread, and I don’t know who you are, or your circumstances yet, so I apologize if I’ve offended you.
I was talking about the fact you have no tub to hide in, and that I’ve heard reports that the terrorists are trying to target westerners.
Are you in a hotel?
If you can hold tight I would stay put and use the time to advantage. Esp. as it is still dark. "You don't know...what you don't know".
I have been to Delhi. My thoughts were if someone wanted to pull my white a** out of a taxi I would never be seen or heard from again.
Stay put imo. You won’t starve in one day. I’d wait for some kind of all clear.
I wouldn’t do it right now.
Get all the food out of your cupboards, and think of how to keep yourself fed with what you have on hand.
Then, make a list of basics, so that when you get to the store, you can do it fast, and get home fast. Anyone else in your building you can team up with?
Don't move unless/until you know the situation is under control. I don't know the details of your predicament to be sure -- but you can live for many days without any food at all so long as you have some water. SO, unless anyone in your household has a life-threatening medical issue there is no reason to go out until you know with certainty that it is safe again. Do you have water? Humans can live on just water for many days, even weeks - it wouldn't be pleasant, but you certainly should not need new supplies today. Not that it should take that long, but if it were me or my family I would not let anyone go out until the situation is totally secured.
