ARTICLE SNIPPET: “‘We still believe that approximately 200 people are trapped inside’ the Trident/Oberoi in the south of the city, vice chairman of the Oberoi Group of hotels S.S. Mukherji told India’s NDTV channel in an interview.

Police said they had shot dead four gunmen and arrested nine suspects. They said 12 policemen were killed, including Hemant Karkare, the chief of the police anti-terrorist squad in Mumbai.

‘We have shot dead four terrorists and managed to arrest nine suspected terrorists,’ P.D. Ghadge, a police officer at Mumbai’s central control room, told Reuters.

A militant holed up inside Mumbai’s Oberoi Hotel told India TV on Thursday that seven attackers were holding hostages inside the luxury establishment.

‘There are seven of us inside hotel Oberoi,’ the man identified as Sahadullah told India TV.

NEW DELHI: As many as 125 people, including 14 police personnel, have been killed in the Mumbai terror attacks, the Union Home Ministry said on

Thursday night.

Quoting latest figures received from Mumbai, the Ministry said the dead also included six foreigners and one homeguard jawan. The remaining 104 were public.

The Ministry said 327 people were injured: 26 policemen, 294 Indians and 7 foreigners.
