Details are sketchy but it is believed that two gangs fired at each other at outside CST Railway Terminus, Hotel Oberoi and the popular Café Leopold restaurant in Mumbai.

Two huge explosions and gunfire at Taj. Must be moving on the last 1 or 2 terrorists. Man oh man. How many terrorists are there ?

7 terrorists killed at Taj. Wow. 7 terrorists per Hotel attack ?
To: justa-hairyape
According to link at post #1845 one injured terrorist still remains in the Taj. Security forces expect to “mop up” soon.

Local TV stations reported that some employees and guests also joined the terrorists. Were hoarding ammo in the hotels for weeks?
To: Srirangan
How in the world did they keep this staging a secret ?
With the remaining terrorist in the Taj and the 7 reported killed in the Taj, that's at least 8 terrorists attacking the Taj alone. You might be right on some prestaging and sleepers being placed inside the Hotel.

Hi neighbor--wondered when I saw your reference to JoCo if you meant the county where GP is. So sad that they're taking the dam out, especially for those (like you?) who live on the "lake portion" of the Rogue. Am sure all those who are so gung-ho about removing the dam are going to be the first ones to cry when our tourist industry gets hit hard--especially in RR!
Just like the ones who whined the most about the libraries closing due to the loss of O&C funds seem to be the ones who were so passionate about defending the spotted owl against the logging industry
Guess over-weening devotion to a cause can lead, at best, to unintended and often disastrous consequences, and at worst, to paving the kind of "road to hell" that we are seeing so covered with blood in Bombay.
In either case--may God have mercy!

It appears to have been an extremely complex operation.
But that’s good - for the good guys. There will be more threads to unravel. The bad thing is that most preliminary clues point towards Pakistan wittingly or unwittingly acting as base for the terrorists.

Unwittingly. That’s cute.

Now reporting that 3 to 4 terrorist are still in the old heritage wing of the Taj. Might still be hostages. Are the terrorists coming out of the wood work or what ?

It looked as if police were firing tear gas into the Nariman house. They shot something large with very little aim into the house. Must have been a canister weapon. Then the firing broke out strong.

Indian cooking is great but ......... Many Indians are abandoning traditional Indian cooking and are moving on to western dishes like pasta .
