One of Barack Obamas longtime mentors and oldest friends said today he believes Bill Clinton will be a complicating factor for the new president and that his list of foreign donors could prove embarrassing.
Abner Mikva, a former federal judge who was Mr Clintons White House counsel and an early supporter of Mr Obamas told The Times that the president-elects choice of Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State worried him because of her husband.
Although not a member of Mr Obama White House transition team, Mr Mikva was once one of Mr Obamas most powerful patrons in Chicago, and is the first person with ties to the president-elect to publicly express misgivings about Mr Clintons impact on the new administration.

If Bill Clinton's foreign donors present a stumbling block to Hillary's nomination as Secretary of State--if Hillary is at risk of undue influence or even blackmail as a result of her husband's paymasters--is the same not even more of a worry about Obama?
I don't think Obama is particularly bright. He seems to have at least one advisor capable of completing a thought. 2009 will be interesting.
Is the the same Abner Mikva who, as a judge, earned F- fron the NRA for his anti-gun stance? How come he’s not a judge anymore - more “culture of corruption”?
