The 72-year-old presiding elder of a breakaway polygamist Mormon sect and two other church members surrendered to Schleicher County authorities on Monday to face felony charges relating to the underage marriage of girls to older men.
Fredrick Merril Jessop, a leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, faces one count of conducting an unlawful marriage ceremony involving a minor, a felony.
According to authorities, one of his daughters was married to jailed sect leader Warren Jeffs at age 12 and is now the only child from the Yearning For Zion Ranch in foster care after her mother refused to cooperate with child welfare authorities.

It’s about time they got the right people in custody.
What men did they falsely accuse and imprison? I didn’t hear about them.
But what about their rights? If homosexuals have the right to marry, don’t they have the right to marry as many young girls as they can create? /s
No men were falsely imprisoned that I am aware of.
It was women and children who were falsely arrested and held.
The fact that no men were arrested at the “start” of the whole fiasco has been the problem all along.
Homosexuals DO have the right to marry... someone of the opposite sex.
I don’t recall that any women or children were arrested or jailed.
You have sources for that?
Surely the arrest warrants and charges filed against them should be public knowledge if that was the case.
What were they charged with?
They weren’t CHARGED with anything. They were just arrested, detained and held against their will.
Zealots can be SOOOOO obtuse sometimes.
Which women and children were arrested?
How can they be arrested without charges?
Well, with Sharia law from Islam infiltrating the west and slowly being allowed to creep into our legal systems, in the area of polygamy (by some “allowances” now), it won’t be too long before the Mormons decide to pick it back up again, too.
The Islamic terrorists (towards our legal systems) are winning the day and everything is going to “go by the wayside”...
It won’t be too much longer before these particular marriages (outlined in the article) will be ruled valid.
Interesting...
Can SOMEone say anything about the people who believe in the Book of Mormon and D&C's in THIS thread?
Can the Flds 'doctrine' be discussed here?
All I gotta say about it is that you *sure do* pick those Mormon threads and comments... LOL...
