God Bless and Amen..Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!
Lord, we left the land a long time ago, mostly because people wanted somethin’ better.
And, mostly we were tired of back breakin’ work, sunup to sundown hours, and thinkin’ there must be somethin’ easier.
Well, many of us moved to towns, started businesses, or worked for somebody for wages. The work was still hard, but the wages was steady, and we got a little time off for ourselves.
But, see, it’s this money thing. It’s mostly paper, backed by somethin’ that comes out of the dirt, or, at least it used to be. You know the stuff. You created it. They call it gold. You can’t eat it, it’s heavy, but it sure is pretty to some.
Well, now, our paper isn’t worth the ink it was printed with. Most of the stuff we buy is made to last until it’s paid for, over time, like rent. Then, that stuff falls apart and has to be replaced, at a higher cost. Oh, and the new one’s got more bells and whistles to go wrong.
Anyway, Lord, it looks like we are losing control of the land that we cherish. If we had it all to do over again, would we make the same mistakes?
Yeah, ‘cause we don’t ask You for what we need. We just go out and by it, ‘cause we think we have to have it NOW.
Thank You, Lord, for listenin’. We do praise You for everything You have allowed us to do to ourselves. And we know that You will take us back, and forgive our mistakes.
I just don’t know how we will climb out of this hole we dug ourselves into.
Please, don’t get me started on taxes.
Amen.
Prayers up!
AMEN SISTER AND GRACE TO ALL CHISTIAN PATRIOTS!
“Strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.”
- Psalm 68:28
It is our wisdom, as well as our necessity, to beseech God continually to
strengthen that which he has wrought in us. It is because of their neglect
in this, that many Christians may blame themselves for those trials and
afflictions of spirit which arise from unbelief. It is true that Satan
seeks to flood the fair garden of the heart and make it a scene of
desolation, but it is also true that many Christians leave open the
sluice-gates themselves, and let in the dreadful deluge through
carelessness and want of prayer to their strong Helper. We often forget
that the Author of our faith must be the Preserver of it also. The lamp
which was burning in the temple was never allowed to go out, but it had to
be daily replenished with fresh oil; in like manner, our faith can only
live by being sustained with the oil of grace, and we can only obtain this
from God himself. Foolish virgins we shall prove, if we do not secure the
needed sustenance for our lamps. He who built the world upholds it, or it
would fall in one tremendous crash; he who made us Christians must
maintain us by his Spirit, or our ruin will be speedy and final. Let us,
then, evening by evening, go to our Lord for the grace and strength we
need. We have a strong argument to plead, for it is his own work of grace
which we ask him to strengthen-”that which thou hast wrought for us.
“ Think you he will fail to protect and sustain that? Only let your faith
take hold of his strength, and all the powers of darkness, led on by the
master fiend of hell, cannot cast a cloud or shadow over your joy and
peace.
Why faint when you may be strong? Why suffer defeat when you may conquer?
Oh! take your wavering faith and drooping graces to him who can revive and
replenish them, and earnestly pray, “Strengthen, O God, that which thou
hast wrought for us.

5 SOLAS!
Amen, Kitty Mittens. Balm of Heaven. Thank you so much.
One of the joys of being with kids is holding their hands. We do it to keep them safe while crossing the street, or to keep them from getting lost in a crowd. And whenever they stumble and lose their footing, we grab their little hands tighter to keep them from falling.
Thats what God does for us. Inevitably there are stones and cracks that trip us up on the sidewalks of life. Thats why its easy to identify with the psalmist, who said, My steps had nearly slipped (Ps. 73:2).
We all face a variety of issues that threaten to make us stumble. For the psalmist Asaph, seeing the prosperity of the wicked caused him to question the goodness of God. But God squeezed his hand and reassured him that, given the judgment of God, the wicked do not really prosper. True prosperity, the psalmist discovered, was found in the fact that God was always with him: You hold me by my right hand (v.23). And just for good measure, God reminded him that He would also guide him through life and ultimately welcome him home to heaven (v.24). How good is that!
So, next time you stumble, remember that the powerful hand of God is holding your hand and walking you through lifeall the way home!
Amen.
Joining in prayer, praise and thanks to our Lord.
