Palin's fans and foes keep her in the spotlight

A California-based conservative group that hammered Democratic Sen. Barack Obama during the presidential election is launching a string of commercials this week praising Gov. Sarah Palin.

Designed to counter what the group calls attacks on Palin -- a potential presidential candidate in 2012 -- by "media elites," the ads begin airing in Alaska today.

But Palin's critics have been just as busy.

A group spearheaded by local left-leaning bloggers says the governor still has to answer for the findings of an abuse-of-power investigation finished during the campaign, and are pressing lawmakers to take action next session.

The group, Alaskans for Truth, says the Legislature ought to censure Palin for breaking ethics rules and hold hearings on whether the governor and her husband told investigators the truth.

Good news in the first part.... BS in the second. Nice to see more and more of these PACs are popping up.

I thought perjury was no big deal. The Left parroted that during the age of Clintigula.

“Alaskans for Truth”. LOL!!

I can see that group making a big splash /sarc

I’m willing to bet most Alaskans would not be receptive to a 527 front group launched by fringe leftist bloggers demanding to re-open an investigation that has already cleared Sarah Palin on everything.

Hey, goofballs, you obviously didn't get the memo---it's over...

New Troopergate report clears Palin

Idiots.

"A group spearheaded by local left-leaning bloggers "

Well, what are we at FR, but "right-leaning bloggers"? Can't we "spearhead" a group to promote Governor Palin?

She's already been cleared of those "abuse of power" charges, and if there was anything to it, there would be someone more powerful than an internet blog in on it.

The left-wingers exist to cast aspersions on conservatives. It's not that those bloggers have an real power...they don't. But unfortunately, the MSM has deemed the left wing blogs as their new source of information in the 21st century.

I'm convinced the only thing journalism schools teach is how to surf the net and re-write rumors, lies, and talking points.

But, I would like to thank them for keeping Governor Palin's name in the limelight...which is all they're doing without any official power to do anything more. And, that fires up her base even more.

..she terrifies every RINO Republican in Congress and the so-called "future" of the party: the Republican Governors.

Their damnation with faint praise every time her name is brought up tells me where their priorities are--themselves...

We could always gang up and email them to suggest that
"holding the highest office in ths state accountable"
should apply at national level as well.
Maybe they'll run some ads asking for "Oh's" birth certificate and draft status...?

Last night on H&C Gov. Sanford went out of his way to list every GOP gov. except Palin and laughed when her name was mentioned. This is not the 1st time GOPers have omitted her name when mentioning rising stars. It’s obvious they are jealous of her star power. Let them fight like dogs for the right to be trounced by 0bama in ‘12. In ‘16, after 2 sucessful terms as gov and connections all over the US, SP will tell them, ‘Time’s up boys, get out of my way.’

Funny you bring this up, I was just talking to a buddy of mine here at work, and told him about this. What is up w/ these jealous, backstabbing governors?? They can’t even give her one ounce of credit. It’s hard to decipher whether they are embarrassed of her b/c of the media attacks (i.e. they don’t want to be associated w/ her) or is it they just know she IS the star right now and are jealous as hell?

No matter what Sarah decides to do, these knuckleheads need to band together and support each other or this party will never recover.

BTW, for the record, I don’t know much about Sanford, but the few times I’ve seen him interviewed, he doesn’t seem overly impressive to me... feel free to flame away on that if you wish :)

To be sure, SP has made some gaffs, but it is important to remember that she is 44 year old gov. of a remote state with a population less than most big cities. She had no way to prepare for the ruthless attacks from all sides on her. Other than Elvis, no one else has gone from obscurity to mega-superstardom is such short time. But, SP handled all with class and a smile. She knows she has got “it” and it’s just a matter of playing her cards right and she achieve whatever she wants.
