I’ve found that a lot of teenage girls and young adult women are what I call “Internet lebians”. They call themselves lesbian or bisexual but have never had any lesbian experiences and don’t seem to be in any rush to try. I think they say it because it makes them feel special.
One of the most twisted that I’ve encountered was an internet lesbian muslim.
Right on the money.
A pro-homosexual psychiatrist friend admitted to me that many "bisexuals" do it because it's "cool" these days. Many of them do have experience, and it's very well documented that women tend to try initial sexual experiences more out of curiosity than drive (unlike men), so it's easy for many of these girls to get curious and try.
In fact, this is very prevalent on college campuses, and actuve recruitment by lesbian activists often focuses on "curiosity" to get women to try it.
Note the date of this study:
In Canada, a 1988 survey of first-year college students under 25 indicated that 98% were heterosexual; 1% bisexual; and 1% homosexual. (Source: King, et al. Canada, Youth and AIDS Study, Kingston, Ontario: Queen's University.)That was 1988. I guarantee the number is much higher now.
When I was teaching HS it was becoming fashionable for the girls to behave as lesbians. My impression was that they did it because they guys liked it. I walked in on 2 girls kissing in my classroom once (I had let them go in to work on something, it never occurred to me at the time that 2 girls would be an issue!).

Without a doubt, you and I hang out in different bars! ;-)
