WASHINGTON – President George W. Bush has granted pardons to 14 individuals and commuted the prison sentences of two others convicted of misdeeds ranging from drug offenses to tax evasion, from wildlife violations to bank embezzlement, The Associated Press learned Monday. The new round of White House pardons are Bush's first since March and come less than two months before he will end his presidency. The crimes committed by those on the list also include offenses involving hazardous waste, food stamps, and the theft of government property. Bush has been stingy during his time in office about handing out such reprieves. Including these actions, he has granted a total of 171 and eight commutations. That's less than half as many as Presidents Clinton or Reagan issued during their time in office. Both were two-term presidents.

Bush is disloyal to those who support(ed) him.

Which is because even if he says he hasn't touched a drop of booze in years, he remains, at bottom, an alcoholic.

At the rate we’re going we’ll be “bailing out” Mexico because the ILLEGALS are scurrying home - due to our recession. Heck, what’s one more “bailout”. You’d think it was snowing CASH. The only problem is YOU and I get the BILL for the IRRESPONSIBILITY of OTHERS that we had NO CONTROL OF.

Isn’t life grand!

Leslie Owen Collier of Charleston, Mo. She was convicted for unauthorized use of a pesticide and violating the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.

This is crazy too, Jail time?

Mr. President, you have done an exceptional job of protecting us for the past 7 years.

Gag...

Tell that to the tens of thousands that have been raped, robbed, murdered, maimed, and have been victims of fraud and property crimes at the hands of illegal aliens.

Clearly a reference to terrorists...and, I’m a woman.

I personally don't give a damn if you are a male or female baboon.

The facts above remain, if you are being raped, robbed, or murdered, there is little difference between some violent asshole doing this in Baghdad or Indianapolis.

Making matters worse, Ramos and Compean also have massive fines to pay once they leave prison.

I’ll make a wild guess that Obama will at some point issue a pardon to the cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal.

And 0bama should then expect that his motorcades through various cities will be well protected by the Fraternal Order of Policemen ?

I hope Alma Powell has a good talk with Michelle 0bama about which side her toast is buttered, as far as security goes.

Bush is such a dud. He was probably told who he should pardon.

It’s the Roman Senate.

See link for the list. Still waiting on the Border Patrol pardons.

That would be entirely out of character, otherwise they would never been tried and convicted.

If these are the details (he was helping FBI)...I wonder why he wasn’t pardoned 4 years ago.

Why should Bush pardon two guys who shot an unarmed man in the back and then tried to cover up the evidence?
