MORTON KONDRACKE: GOP's first step is to ignore Rush

How can the Republican Party rebound? The first step would be to quit letting Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham set its agenda.

A second step would be for Congressional Republicans to actually try to help President-elect Barack Obama succeed in addressing the country’s dire problems — offering better ideas where appropriate and opposing just when necessary, not reflexively.

And the third — maybe the biggest one — would be for GOP governors to use their posts to show the country how conservatives can solve problems, especially the dismal state of American education and its menacing cousin, lagging American competitiveness.

If one governor would fully implement a widely circulated proposal to transform U.S. education — based on having most children graduate after 10th grade and using the savings to pay teachers like professionals — it could serve as a model for the nation and bring the United States back to world standards.

Mort, I don't think McCain listened to any of them---I didn't see the rebound.

When a RINO snorts in the jungle, does anyone hear him?

Hey Mort, worry about your guy not completely destroying the country; we’ll worry about the Republicans.

What the heck is Mort smoking? He's completely backwards and out of touch on this issue. The Republican party has been ignoring Rush, Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and many other conservatives for about 8 years now. And as a result, they've lost significant ground.

Hey mort, we will not rebound by emulating the opposition. That's a dead cat bounce if ever there was one.

We can rebound by re-enshrining solid, traditional conservative principles in fiscal spending and responsibility, in energy, in moral issues (abortion, gay rights, etc.), immigration, 2nd amendment, foreign policy, etc., etc.

The best person right now to make that happen is...you guessed it mort, Sarah Palin.

Let the MSM, the DNC, and the RINOs take their best shot. Sarah will come out of it the better, and more loved and respected, and positioned to help us take back the GOP and our country as a result.

HOW SARAH PALIN TRUMPS LIBERALISM

Mort is not a RINO, he is a Democrat! And for months last year kept proclaiming how the GOP just HAD to elect John McCain... of course his good buddy Fred Barnes agreed with him... the last person anyone in the GOP needs to listen to is Mort Kondrake! He has no clue how a conservative thinks and he is only interested in one thing... stem cells because of his late wife’s illness, even though he remarried, it has made him a bitter man.

the radio screamers roused the rabble, who then beat on GOP members of Congress, presidential candidates and even the Bush administration not just to control the border but treat undocumented residents as felons.

Uhh....Mort.....Buddy....Undocumented residents ARE felons because they're guilty of a FELONY!

See why I posted about 15 minutes ago that it may just be quicker (certainly less aggravating) to just sawy screw the GOP and focus on a Conservative Party movement?

The Mortman is getting a bit miffed that El Rushbo and the rest have much, much more influence than he has.

Properly so.
