“WELL, the election has come and gone, and we have our first African-American president.”

Not so fast. He is not even “president elect” yet.

Of course, this letter drew out three snarling moonbats.

The comments section in the referenced article are representative of the frothing moonbat population. I’ll give Obama the same courtesy they gave Pres. Bush.

Whatever happens will be an extremely open test of affirmative action since Obama and his wife are products of affirmative action.

The left has poisoned the well and salted the earth. This cannot be undone.

That sick feeling comes from reading the comments posted at Philly.com. Sometimes I think that Bush was despised solely for his Texan accent. I am totally befuddled as to the hatred directed at this man.

...

your --snip-- is in relation to LBJSo intense that people who supported the president were embarrassed to say so.

JUST TO CLEARIFY: to people who don't read the article

The three comments so far prove her points with one misreading what she had said before attacking her for saying it.

Few today, even those who support him, will admit to any good G.W. Bush has done and are only be able to focus on their personal litany of things they don't like.

I'm not saying he didn't earn his criticism, but it is helpful for me to remember who ran against him and the horror their presidencies might have been.

Bush isn't a conservative, but he sure as hell isn't Algore or Kerry and for that I have been, and will remain, thankful. The next 4 years should do much to reinforce my sometimes reluctant appreciation for these last 8 years.

Says it all, an excellent contribution.

There’s an old saying “be careful what you wish for, you might just get it.”

America has just got it.

“The entire country - if not the world - has been whipped into a frenzy of hope and enthusiasm. “

I fear the incoming president, his plans and the future of our country.

In the end we will be a socialist country. China’s people are starting to revolt against communism and a bunch of idiots just elected a communist to run our country.

This only ends up bad.

Our last free election was 2004, we’ll never have another unless ACORN is prosecuted and O’s fundraising is too.

All working people will become slaves to the collective.

I stand corrected, after rereading the article LBJ was only in office 4 years sorry for the comment, guess my support for the President during a war and weak coffee, thats not an excuse.

more like a mass psychosis. (they’re probably going to prove he’s the messiah by saying he changed the world.)

I don’t think GWB hung the moon but the comments following the article at the target site simply prove the writer’s point: kneejerk juvenile name-calling.

They can’t argue with the no-attacks-since-9/11. They can’t deny that Iraq has been won. When’s the last time you saw a form letter to the editor declaring “we’re involved in a civil war and we can’t win”?

Forget dates, times and places for a moment. The moral of the story is that the left demands total and unconditional hatred and anyone who dissents will be attacked by a mob.

You don't have to read too far down into the comments on that article before the B.S. starts piling on. No matter what you think of G.W., I at least feel he's acted honorably and with the country's best interests at heart during his term. I still have vivid memories of the Sleaze Clinton on Bush's Inauguration day as Slick Willie kept prantzing around Washington refusing to leave town, and the Media's adoration of him. The man who was a total disgrace to the office of president is adored and covered for by the MSM, while Bush has been vilified constantly from well before he was elected. Reporters slight him constantly, referring to him as Mr. Bush, while lying to the American public by covering up or ignoring the blatant treasonous actions of the DemonRATs. Well, now we are going to reap the harvest of lies, deceit and corruption that we may well not survive. God Save America.

....in the last 8 years I was able to:
pay off my mortgage
put my wife and daughter thru graduate school(PhD&MBA)
retire from my job
not get blown up by Muslims
buy the little farm of my dreams with a trout pond
pay off both our cars

I did this on a salary of 60K a year.
Thanks President Bush for creating the environment that made this possible.

I still support Pres. Bush for so much that he did. However, he never would stand up for himself and his decisions. He didn’t defend himself in print, media, or congress, and I’ll never understand it. Ever.

It was either totally inept information management OR part of some strategy that must someday be revealed. In the end it was a strategy that gave the entire government to the democrats...depending on how 2 senate races turn out.

In the Bible, Aaron, or Aaron the Levite, was the brother of Moses. He was the great-grandson of Levi and represented the priestly functions of his tribe, becoming the first High Priest of the Hebrews. While Moses was receiving his education at the Egyptian royal court and during his exile among the Midianites, Aaron and his sister remained with their kinsmen in the eastern border-land of Egypt (Goshen). He there gained a name for eloquent and persuasive speech; so that when the time came for the demand upon the Pharaoh to release Israel from captivity, Aaron became his brother’s "nabi", or spokesman, to his own people and, after their unwillingness to hear, to the Pharaoh himself. He is said to have flourished about 1200 BC (traditionally 1597 BC).

Bush needed his Aaron or a powerful speech adviser. Nuclear isn't that hard to say. Shows stubbornness not necessarily stupidity, but it made him an instant target the moment he said it on the national stage.
