Please share the best deals you find as well as your observations about consumer behavior, your own and others. This is an early indicator of how the year will end and I am fascinated by the phenomena.
What shopping plans does your family have this year?
REMINGTON 770 W/ SCOPE IN VARIOUS CALIBERS ON SALE AT GANDER MOUNTAIN FOR $319.00
Went to the Mall today to find some nice winter boots (old ones are worn out). Lot was very crowded, and lots of shoppers. This mall has a couple of big new stores, so that may explain some of the attraction. Anyway, shoppers were mostly okay, though a very rude one sat where I had my coat and 1 Gym shoe already placed (I was walking around looking for boots). Some kid, text messaging who knows who. I like online shopping the best.
Merry Christmas!
Thanks!

I’ divorced for 5 years. Both boys are adults and going their own ways.
I’ve been toying with the idea of doing Las Vegas for Christmas. Mid life crisis maybe - but it’s looking good in my mind and I don’t see a down side.
A star? In the East?
Gift cards for the most part.
My bet is that it is cheap, really cheap. OTOH me I think Vegas at Christmas might be a downer.
I read that gift carde sales are down. You are bucking the trend.
I’ve never been there.
did I mention I’m divorced? ;^)
We generally have massive Christmases, because of our many children, grandchildren, and sons- and daughters-in-law. Not all of them come every year now, but we still generally have about 15 large stockings around the living room, and mounds of presents.
But for the first time I can remember, my wife has been saying that we have to cut back—and no presents for anyone who doesn’t say what what he or she wants or needs.
We’ll see whether she sticks to that resolution.
My family traditionally call this “Christma”, because when we turn on WNIC between Halloween and Thanksgiving, they play “Holiday” music. Somehow the readout on my radio does not give the “s” at the end of Christmas.
Not a conspiracy, it just makes us laugh.
Anyway, I need a portable DVD player and I’m done. I loved the idea of another FReeper that we will buy everything we near to want (and can afford) BEFORE the big 0 makes it in. We’ll help the economy before him.
Dad got a new laptop and I got a new stove. Life is good!
This is a “Sale Leak” site. They’ve got some of the insider stuff on what will be on sale the day after Thanksgiving. You can map out a
strategy...
I thought that those things had to bounce off of a partner to work.
Myself, I waited too long.
You did. I have been to Vegas, never been divorced. It is fantasyland but tawdry. With travel so cheap, me I’d think a cruise to somewhere warm. They have casinos on the boat without the raw tawdriness of Vegas.
