Thanksgiving is next week, and President Bush could make it a really special holiday by resigning.
Seriously. We have an economy thats crashing and a vacuum at the top. Bush who is currently on a trip to Peru to meet with Asian leaders who no longer care what he thinks hasnt got the clout, or possibly even the energy, to do anything useful. His most recent contribution to resolving the fiscal crisis was lecturing representatives of the worlds most important economies on the glories of free-market capitalism.
Putting Barack Obama in charge immediately isnt impossible. Dick Cheney, obviously, would have to quit as well as Bush. In fact, just to be on the safe side, the vice president ought to turn in his resignation first. (Were desperate, but not crazy.) Then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would become president until Jan. 20. Obviously, shed defer to her partys incoming chief executive, and Barack Obama could begin governing.

Now we have Gail Collins at the NYT, Tom Brokaw on Meet the Press and Kate Snow on Good Morning America all demanding the overthrow of the government so that Barry can get an early start on the road to Utopia.
Considering that the NY Times stock dropped 6 percent during friday’s trading hours and another 6 percent after hours Gail should be calling for Pinch to step down, so I suppose her misplaced rage is coming from somewhere. NY Times is quickly sinking towards bankrupcy.
To: Kaslin
this would make more sense if americans elected someone who actually has a clue.

She must have been wearing the special glasses that liberals wear. You know the ones that when they read the constitution help them find the hidden rights and rules that only they know about. Like the right to an abortion and this one she is pushing. These glasses also make anything they disagree with disappear. Like the 2nd amendment.

I'm rapidly approaching the end of my rope concerning these Obama worshipping IDIOTS. Three days in a row my local newspaper has had huge heroic looking photographs of Obama above the fold. People are walking around with sedated looks on their faces answering every comment & concern with 'Obama will take care of it'.
The freaking Franklin Mint is selling Obama commemorative gold coins and CBS is selling an Obama campaign retrospective DVD on TV.
And outside of raising a buttload of campaign donations and winning a bare plurality of the popular vote the guy has not-yet-a-single-achievement to his name.
I've never seen anything like it. As the man said, its creepy.

This is such an appropriate bookend to the beginning of the Bush administration, when Clinton held up transition funds until the middle of December, 2000, preventing Bush from froming his administration like Obama is doing now.
They were still blocking his second- and third-tier picks when 9/11 happened.
