Furor over Proposed Ban of Circumcision in Denmark
Israel National News ^ | 21 November 2008

Jews and Muslims in Denmark are in an uproar about a bill to ban circumcision for boys under the age of 15, according to Yediot Ahronot. The country's National Council for Children and Ethics Council have both endorsed the proposal and only the parliament's medical committee can prevent it from being heard.

The National Council for Children argued that, "Circumcision is the irreversible damage to a child's body before he is given the chance to object." It also said the ban was a matter of equality, in the wake of a five-year-old ban on female circumscion.

Denmark's Chief Rabbi Bent Lexner – who is also a certified mohel (circumciser) in the community – told Yediot Ahronot, "The comparison between circumcision and the intentional mutilation of the female sex organ in certain societies is simply complete nonsense." He added, "If the law forbidding circumcision is ever passed in Denmark, Jews will have to leave the place they have been living in for hundreds of years."

It looks like Denmark has found a 'final solution to the Jewish problem'.

Some few of them may leave, but since they can have it done once they're 15 years old, it's hardly "final".

However, it may tend to discourage Muslims from settling there, too. They're also supposed to circumsize boys. THAT wouldn't necessarily be such a bad thing.

Once upon a time it was suggested that you place a tattoo on your child in an inconspicuous place so that, God forbid, your child was abducted they could easily be identified.

Once upon a time. Their chances of contracting hepatitis while being tattooed are likely MUCH higher than their chances of being abducted by a stranger. No one even advocates tattooing children with serious medical conditions. They wear Medic Alert necklaces and such - the equivalent of dog tags. Soon, they may have chips implanted, but that's another thread. :)

Children should not be tattooed or pierced. My opinion is that they shouldn't be circumcised, either, unless there's a medical reason. Adults can decide for themselves if they want to have it done.

Do you know the dangers of an adult circumcision? I wasn’t suggesting tattooing anyone. But reputable tattoo artist’s take every precaution to abide by health department laws...and hepatitis being contracted from a licensed tattoo artist is FAR less than a child being abducted in this day and age.

You must still be young and able to function. How fortunate for you.

If circumcision entailed the removal of the entire penis to ensure that Muslim boys and men never were tempted to corrupt women by seeking sexual pleasure, these idiots might have a point.

Circumcision is the most disgusting practice that could be performed on a child.

Dear Mom and Dad,

Thank you so much much for having the wisdom to have me circumcised. Thank you for understanding that a simple clip by competent physician caused me no trouble at all as an infant.

Thank you for allowing me to go through life healthier and cleaner. Above all, thank you for making it far easier and likely for me to enjoy the fantastic pleasure derived from a certain act that the opposite sex would be far less willing to perform on me should you have left me in the unkept and unattractive state I was born in.

Your Son.

You are completely missing my point.

If the foreskin was not a highly valued part of their sexual anatomy, David could have simply paid Philistines to be circumcised and produced as many as he wanted that way.

My point was that the foreskin was so valuable to these men that they would fight and kill or be killed rather than be circumcised.

Of course if you want to be ignorant of this you certainly can be...

Nice lie, but lets step back to reality. I am just as “clean” as some other guy that had part of his genitals removed. I am not “unkept”, nor am I less healthy. For some reason, there are all of these lies spread, and they tell people that they must mutilate their genitals to be clean. None of it is true, and circumcision is a horrible practice with no medical benefit.

Instead of taking the choice away.

there are alot of choices that I get to make for my children because I am the adult.

They really don’t get ANY say in how they are raised. What they do after they turn 18 is their business, but before that its my choice only.

I always wondered why people insisted that man was made in God's image, and then proceeded to mutilate it and treat it as ugly.

So your son gets to have his foreskin back when he's 18?

Thanks, mom.

The Muslims shouldn't protest because they believe a boy should be old enough to remember his circumcision. At 15, he'd really, really remember. Of course, by then he'd be big enough to say no with enough physical force to back it up.

At least there isn't a big movement for hemispherectomies.

Conservative means “to conserve”, not cut off, remove, or mutilate.

This site is devoted to a conservative agenda, and anyone, doctor, parent, or layman, who proposes or supports the radical removal of a normal, organic part of another person’s body is violating a sacred trust.
