Someone has to take out the trash. The too big to fail is BS and has to be stopped.

I agree. Funny how these financial firms are too important to fail, but all they do is shuffle paper. In contrast, the Big Three actually make something and would be vital for national security should we ever go to war again. If we go to war with China, we’d be sorry real fast about all our factories we shipped over there.

Lots of FReepers luv to criticize the Big Three Auto makers. But if GM, Ford, & Chrysler did their jobs as poorly as Wall Street & the banks, we’d all be driving the equivalent of Pintos that cost $50K, get 10 MPG, leak oil, have a service life of 24K miles, and regularly explode without warning, killing the occupants.

Actually a pinto probably got better fuel mileage and was more dependable than some of the $60,000 POS they sell today.

So many sectors are experiencing chaos and uncertainty.. plus no matter what we have to institute national health insurance, that's a given. The only thing that makes sense is central planning and collaboration with the global community.

If saving the big three includes saving union legacy outputs than congress better figure a way to restore my retirement savings that went down the $hitter.

Well, if causing a global financial collapse is not reason enough to get fired, I don’t know what is.

Well, many of them think they are too talented to be fired.

I’m a casualty!

If anyone in San Antonio is looking for an IT Manager or Project Manager, please send me a note.

All help is appreciated. I don’t want your tax money. I want a job.

I just don’t know, anymore, how many of these disasterous projections are simply “bailout foreplay” or are real. I guess we will find out.

The problem with the Big Three is that we have something to compare them to...Toyota, Honda, Nissan, etc. On the other hand we don't have anything to compare the financial industry to.

I haven’t seen anything here in my 10 years of FReeping that indicates anybody give a tinker’s damn about anyone else when it comes to a job.

I for one feel terrible when I hear someone has lost their job because I know how devastating it is. We like to pretend money doesn't buy happiness but having it cut off is so devastating. Devastating is the only word I can think of right now. The high up CEO’s and stuff, I don't know about them. I've always heard about their golden parachutes and so I feel different about them. But yes, when I hear of ordinary people, even those who push papers at a financial institution perhaps, sweep it's floors, make it's coffee, are laid off I feel bad. It is like watching everyone around me die of the plague or something. I still have my job but my hours have been reduced drastically and I can't live on it and I can't help even one other person. That hurts because all these years I've helped people down on their luck with money or pay a bill, etc. It is chilling to be one of them or close to being one of them. Also, it is amazing to watch those who thought they were secure feel the creeping, too.
