Compare:
Id rather entrust the government of the United States to the first 400 people listed in the Boston telephone directory than to the faculty of Harvard University.
William F. Buckley, Jr.
---------------------------------------
And contrast:
Jan. 20, 2009, will be a historic day. Barack Obama (Columbia, Harvard Law) will take the oath of office as his wife, Michelle (Princeton, Harvard Law), looks on proudly. Nearby, his foreign policy advisers will stand beaming, including perhaps Hillary Clinton (Wellesley, Yale Law), Jim Steinberg (Harvard, Yale Law) and Susan Rice (Stanford, Oxford D. Phil.).
The domestic policy team will be there, too, including Jason Furman (Harvard, Harvard Ph.D.), Austan Goolsbee (Yale, M.I.T. Ph.D.), Blair Levin (Yale, Yale Law), Peter Orszag (Princeton, London School of Economics Ph.D.) and, of course, the White House Counsel Greg Craig (Harvard, Yale Law)
Already the culture of the Obama administration is coming into focus. Its members are twice as smart as the poor reporters who have to cover them, three times if you include the columnists. They typically served in the Clinton administration and then, like Cincinnatus, retreated to the comforts of private life that is, if Cincinnatus had worked at Goldman Sachs, Williams & Connolly or the Brookings Institution. So many of them send their kids to Georgetown Day School, the posh leftish private school in D.C. that theyll be able to hold White House staff meetings in the carpool line.
And yet as much as I want to resent these overeducated Achievatrons (not to mention the incursion of a French-style government dominated by highly trained Enarchs), I find myself tremendously impressed by the Obama transition.
Smarty pants/panting smarty David Brooks, NYT, 11/21/08

Get a room, David. Your public displays of Obam-affection are bordering on criminal indecent exposure and gross lewdness.
Ew.

David Tingle-Brooks.
I’ll be he’ll be first in line for the Big O vibrator.
COllectively, a box of rocks has a higher IQ
As a mere UCSB BA, I must be one of the Proletariat...
It’s a kind of insanity.
Brooks was/is an opportunist. Never was a conservative.
Anyone know Obama’s IQ level? How about his grades? Anything he’s ever written produced yet???? CRICKETS....
He co-wrote his autobiography with Bill Ayers. I guess that counts for sumthin.
Now he wets the carpet when anyone raises his voice.
She wets the carpet.
Whatever.
Autobiographies about nothing except how you feel about yourself and those around you/in your life don’t count...especially ones that no one is sure you wrote...
Actually, A box of rocks has more common sense than Obama and his Ivy League crew, and common sense, rather than left wing Ivy League “intelligence”, is what will get America out of this economic mess.
Not a shred of dignity, honor, or intelligence left in the media. Pathetic beyond belief.
A wonderful listing of the most prominent Marxist brainwashing institutions in the United States. Ivy leaguers with soft science degrees are the most dangerous people to our liberty on planet earth, bar none.
I wrote better papers in the 8th Grade than Michelle Obama’s Princeton thesis, she should have written it in crayon.
oh yeah? well as a alumni of Cal State Northridge, I say, “who cares David Brooks?”.
David Brooks=Vichy Republican.
He no longer has a seat at the Conservative Table.
‘Nuff Said.
In addition to being one of the oh-so-smart new political beings in Washington, D.C., I understand Michelle, ma belle, is also co-authoring two books:
It Takes A Tribe, and,
The Vast White Wing Conspiracy
More like wipe your chin, David.
Good Lord, I need a shower after reading that Obama-porn, makes me feel filthy. Brooks should just get a room for himself and the Tinglemeister Matthews so they can seek ever higher levels of self-gratification in The One...
