The original French was translated by
Serendipity and was very well done, I might add.
I thought this was a long overdue example of the real sentiments the French people hold toward Americans as opposed to what the media feeds us.

Interesting that he describes the Americans as so big and powerful
A while back someone posted a bunch of pictures of a Polish military parade. Among those were a unit of French troops. I recall being surprise at how tough they actually looked. Very big, powerfully built and just a rough and ready look about them.

There were some very nice comments at the link as well. Kinda heart-warming. But then soldiers have a common bond that bridges so many differences.

One of the bravest men I know was a Frenchman. He lived in the South of France on the Spanish Border. He and his family were part of the resistance that smuggled out the American and Brit pilots and Air Crews that were shot down. He was only 16 years old when he was doing this. To be caught meant torture and execution for he and his family and anyone they suspected of helping the resistance. Many a French civilian laid down his life for our Air Crews.
Sometimes the French government will pi— you off but the French are okay. Their present government under Sarkosky is pro western and pro USA.
