Breaking - McClintock Campaign Declares Victory

Just over the transom, the McClintock campaign is claiming victory, saying that their new lead is greater than the number of ballots left to be counted.

Here's the email from McClintock campaign Communications Director Bill George:

Vote Tally Mathematically Ensures McClintock Victory in Fourth Congressional District Race

Placer County today completed the process of counting absentee and provisional votes, and Tom McClintock gained 1,464 votes. The final Placer County tally gives McClintock a lead of 1,793 votes over Charlie Brown. With the vote tally completed in Placer and Nevada Counties, there is no mathematical way Charlie Brown can overtake McClintock's lead in the Fourth Congressional District election.

"The votes are almost all in and the result is no longer in doubt," said Bill George, McClintock for Congress communications director. "With the small number of votes remaining to be counted, there is no way Charlie Brown can overcome McClintock's lead. The Placer County vote total leaves no doubt that Tom McClintock has prevailed in this race and will represent the District in Congress," George said.

Just on sheer competence alone, McClintock should rise quickly to a house Republican leadership role. I know technically he is a ‘junior’ representative, but anyone in the party leadership should be able to see his value as a new face and excellent standard bearer for conservatives.

Of course I don’t have much confidence in the Republican ‘leadership’.

Some good news, too bad he didn't become California governor when Gray was recalled.

Indeed. If he plays his cards right, he has a bright future in national politics. If he gets on the right committees and gets his name associated with some important legislation, maybe in a few years he can challange Barbara Boxer.

Okay, maybe I'm dreaming. But I am very happy that such a competent and thoughtful conservative is going to Washington.

R-U-N Paul needs to be defeated and his Congressional seat filled by a real conservative instead of a phony.

Bookmarked.

A rare recount win for the republican - who (as always!) started out AHEAD and had to defend the honesty of the slavishly-promoted MSM democrat/thief.

If paleoPaulie had been the Demonratic nominee, we would have elected a Republican and pro-American POTUS.
