Re#39 They’ll try, that’s for sure. Oh, how I loathe them for their dishonesty and machinations...

Love Dr. Smith......what a great character from “Lost in Space.”

As a resident of Maine, I agree with your tag line 100%.....it’s bitter cold here.

Neither of those three. I like Palin but really, I saw those interviews and her inability to answer the questions was a killer. I, and I’m certain, others on this board could have knocked them out of the park...especially the one about court decisions. It’s not like she was asked about something terribly complex.

The GOP needs someone whose intelligence as well as conservative principles are unimpeachable.

The GOP needs to announce that it will not be running any presidential candidates for 2012.

Frankly, it now seems that the pollsters should be trying to determine what ‘race’ we want to see in the White House for this next election.

I think we should try a Japanese American. I am a Scotsman, but it’s time for the Japanese to have a turn at the helm.

Heck no she can’t even win a state race. ............... Consider the state she ran in, and who she ran against. She is getting more face time now. (Can’t help it, she’s a relative of mine through marriage.)

Maybe she should get rid of the establishment and head a new conservative party. I’d join!

FJB, we all saw that interview, but I have recently been able to speak with an aide assigned to her since he’s returned from the trail. He explained what happened with the Couric interview. She surely could’ve answered the questions, but after being tripped up on the “Bush doctrine” (is there such a thing?) by Gibson in the first interview, the prep team insisted that she only answer certain questions in certain ways with canned answers (which she tried to memorize, at their insistence, without much success), and if she was asked anything else whatsoever, she was instructed to punt as best she could and not answer. If on her own, she would have answered. Regarding what she reads, this aide told me she reads the NY Times but thought she not dare say it as McCain was in a pi**ing contest with them over articles about Cindy. Plus, it wasn’t on the list of things to answer. As many have said, she was completely mishandled.

Romney is so far and away the best choice of those three.

Savvy, an economic heavyweight — he was and is the best hope we’ve had in a long time. Were it not for the institutional prejudices against Mormonism he would have been the nominee in 2008.

I love Sarah, but she is too damaged from this election and the media that covered SNL and Tina Fey with more enthusiasm than a hurricane. Perception has already been crafted for her with the average voters (unfairly) that she is too naive to govern.

Huckabee excites a limited base and comes off as a Gerald Ford and Pat Robertson hybrid.

So I guess a Rush/Gingrich ticket would be just fine with me. Rush will have to do it just to help us recover from the rot and glut over the next few years.

“The campaign against Palin is swinging into full gear:

— potentially freezing Palin out from going to GA to campaign for Chambliss”

Who is freezing her out? The Chambliss campaign has reported that they’ve asked her come next weekend (28th to the 30th), and it depended on her calendar.

BTW, I believe she needs to go.

I really like Palin and I really dislike Huckabee... and Romney, whatever, I’m changing from Republican to Independent anyway. If we don’t have a turkey shoot of RINOs in the GOP in 2010 I couldn’t care less about that party any more.

We now have a commie as President - media select so we’re falling fast as low as we can get anyway.

Just reading the tea leaves based on the the events of the last 2 weeks with the sniping at her from within the party. I've said elsewhere this is just my prediction.

She has said nothing about going to GA and I've seen no direct quote from Chambliss that he wants her there. Maybe I missed it. Romney and Giuliani are on the schedule to go. She is not, and it's getting late.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't think the RINO's in the party want her there.
