They already tried to pass something of the sort when addressing McCain’s natural born status that would have allowed Obama a free pass on his status. It was defeted!

There was talk of amending the Constitution back when Schwarzenegger became governor of California. Of all people, it was Orrin Hatch who was talking about it.
To make it bipartisan, they were talking about how it would benefit Democrat governor Jennifer Granholm, too. She was being seen as a rising star in 2003 also.
