The killer frost for global warming
The Washington Times ^ | November 21, 2008 | Wesley Pruden

Turn up the heat, somebody. The globe is freezing. Even Al Gore is looking for an extra blanket. Winter has barely come to the northern latitudes and already we've got bigger goosebumps than usual. So far the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reports 63 record snowfalls in the United States, 115 lowest-ever temperatures for the month. Only 44 Octobers over the past 114 years have been cooler than this last one...

“Thankfully, we happen to be in a natural cyclical cooling period right now, so perhaps we can get lucky and this Global Warming nonsense can be put to bed, once and for all.”

Not with Waxman and Pelosi in charge. They probably don’t believe in it either, but it’s a great excuse for them to dramatically increase government power.

Energy might not have been scarce, but gasoline was scarce in NC after the hurricane hit the gulf. And it definitely was expensive!

Even Letterman joked about it last night. “Yeah, global warming (eyes roll), thanks Al Gore.”

Unfortuately, AGW is NOT going away. There is WAY too much money to made from trading Carbon Credits to the gullible, and in using it to flog sales - look at the investments and advertisements from all the high-tech firms. They are pushing technology as THE answer to all the world’s problems, and especially AGW. There is a multi-billion dollar hardware refresh that (according to them) MUST happen to save the planet. The accompanying software spend will run 3 to 7 times the cost of the h/w and the accompanying services will be 10x or more the h/w cost. That’s why IBM adds look like discards from a Disney cartoon and HP et al spend millions lobbying for stricter governmental regulations, blather about saving the planet, etc. Large legal firms, Goldman-Sachs and the other financial houses were all counting on Carbon Credits-trading profits as major revenue streams. The delay in mandating them has cost them plenty. These firms can not afford and will let the cash cow of AGW die. And, they will buy whatever political help they need, while idiot presstitutes like Fineman, Krugman, etc. write babble about a ‘flatter, hotter and more crowded’ world.

Think of all the light bulbs to be bought - first by Yahoos like me stocking up on the old ones, everyone else buying the new ones. And yeah, the new ones can’t be ‘dimmed’ w/o retrofitting, so there $ for electricians.

And on and on and on...

I’m riding a bus right now watching the snow fall and stick to the grass. It’s very pretty. Take that, Algore!

In the summer it is called global warming, and in the winter they refer to it as global climate change. They cover their butts by blaming CO2 no matter how mother nature acts.

Don't I wish, but the greasy haired hippy freaks and room temerature IQ soccer moms, and the dishonest academic "intellectuals" who make up the constituency for this nonsense are either too stupid or too dishonest to be convinced by facts. Look for it to surface again after Jan 20.

And all the ME TOO scientists especially the ones applying for grants to study the effects of Global Warming on some obscure plant etc

Look for it to surface again after Jan 20.

If the current trend in the east continues they'll have to dig it out of the snow for it to resurface in January.

It's a balmy 19F and blowing stink out of the NW here atop the Cumberland Plateau this morning.

Bundle up, Tennessee is sending you Georgians an early Christmas "present" this morning. You should receive it by this afternoon. The Canadians sent it to us, so we're being neighborly and sending in on to you. Kinda like that fruitcake everybody keeps passing around every year....

People got a taste of the economic impact of scarce energy last Summer, and they did not like it one little bit. It is undeniable now that when Global Warming freaks are peddling CO2 emissions reductions, they are really peddling Worldwide recession and depression. This is a hard sell, to say the least.

What you say is totally true and logical, but "global warming" isn't about logic it is about religion. It is a splinter faith of government worship - the wholly irration belief that a. man is responsible for climatic cycles, and 2 that government can prevent these cycles from happening. Since it is an irrational belief to start with, those who disagree with high priest owlwhore aren't expressing a contrary (and factually supported) viewpoint, they're blaspheming.

Still you could be right, but the arrogance spewing out of Obama's mouth on "sharing the wealth" when he never did anything to create any, and the equally arrogant and willfully ignorant positions of the other top Democrats toward the laws of economics do not give me much optimism. "I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience" and nothing that has come out of the national democratic party in the last couple of decades has given me any cause for optimism.

Anthropogenic Global Warming was not a central issue in the last campaign.

Yeah. Because both idiots running for president agreed on it. That's why.

LOL I noticed. I was planning on changing the oil in the truck this weekend. Maybe I'll procrastinate (again) until the wind dies down at least.

Seriously, the belief in global warming is totally irrational, and if they have to dig it out from under 4 ft of snow (like just about everything when I lived in Ithaca) they will blame the snow on global warming and keep on going.

“...my neigborhood is filled with War is not the Answer signs ...”

Mine too!!!!....and when you ask these tolerant and progessive people where is their outrage and their sign condemming the Russian invasion of Georgia, they get that “deer in the headlight” look and begin to go mumble off about some theory that eventually and somehow blames Bush........
