The Trooprally's did it to me again. Left town for the weekend. It was another Friday afternoon dinner at their house. I usually go over to their house right after work and spend a few hours killing time before the three of us head down to Walter Reed to keep Code Pink away from the front gate. We were sitting down to eat and [Mr] Trooprally says, "Me and the Mrs are going out of town next Saturday."
I should of jumped up out of my chair right then and pretended that I needed to go use the bathroom. But I was unable to do that in a timely fashion cause I got "catharsis" in my knees. Don't move so fast these days. "You mind covering the Olney freep for us while we're gone?"
"Course not! I'd crawl over a speed bump for you guys. Splash around in the bathtub. Cross the hottest whatever yada yada." "Look, if you don't want to do it just say so." "No, no, just kidding. Don't have a 'cathartic' arrest. I don't mind getting up early Saturday morning and driving 80 miles round trip. I'll do it! I'll do it!"
"Buford, it's just that everybody gets a kick out of your reports." "I'm not so sure about that, Mr T. I can be a pretty 'cathartic' bastard sometimes. I have a real difficult time trying to come up with fresh ideas for the after action reports. You know how it is?"
"What's there to be 'cathartic' about? It's just a small town freep. Besides, we can't let these hate America anti-war peacenik parasite Quakers have the last word. I'm confident you'll think of something to write about." "Okay. You're right. I'm there. Just hope I'm able to find inspiration."
Met Lurker Bill when we got to the corner. As usual the people driving by our corner start honking and waving well before we get things set up. Most of the usual gang arrived around 10:30am. Honor Roll for the day is three of our local Legionaires Halsey, Glen, and Dave. Freepers Cindy-True-Supporter, Fraxinus, iMacMan, and moi. Lurker Bill and Janet.
Low turnout for the Moonbat corner this Saturday. I guess their group is still
I'd say we had the usual 100-to-1 honks in our favor. Watch and see iMacMan go to town photographic the local patriots. Take it way iMacMan!
Not always but every now and then a few of us decide to go somewhere afterwards for lunch and few beers. I had to pass this time. I was feeling a little 'cathartic'. I said, "Sorry, not this time. I feel headache coming on. My braynard hurts." |
Mr Trooprally wanted to make sure I included the following boiler plate info at the end of the report.
DC Chapter ping
Love your posts!
Went one Friday with the family, great time. Maybe next time

How do you explain this????
If someone could link the theme music to Kellie's Heroes, I would be greatly appreciative.
Oh yea, Buford, your AAR is also GREAT. Thanks for covering our braynard. Did we tell you we will out of town on ........
[Mr] T
Great report, Buford! [Mr] T is right, we all get a kick out of your reports. This one is no different. Hope your braynard stopped hurting!
Thanks Olney FReepers! Your dedication to our troops is greatly appreciated.
Don’t ask me. I just cut and paste from one of trooprally’s AARs. But since you mentioned it, here’s a better link:
Thanks for the extra mile, Buford. Tonight you might want to take an extra Advil and wear your long johns. There is a blast of very cold clipper headed your way. We’re freezing our tusshies here in WV. It’s the wind. God prepared.
That is too funny. God prepared. I guess that’s true. GO prepared anyway.
It’s a great weather site.
But does every Freep location come with a HAZARDOUS WEATHER CONDITIONS warning? I smell a conspiracy from the weather bureau.
Actually the same warning was in the corner of the screen of my tv last night when I peeked at Sean’s and at Greta’s shows.
Hmmmm? More anti-conservative bias!
Yes, I threw a pair of sweat pants and sweat shirt in the car for tonight to wear under my clothes.
Your AAR was cathartic for me. It removed any guilt I might of had about skipping out.
