House Republicans are not shifting to the political right, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) told CNSNews.com on Wednesday, just hours after two of the top three GOP leadership spots were won by conservative lawmakers in an internal leadership election.
Members Reps. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), Mike Pence (R-Ind.), and John Mica (R-Fla.), however, told CNSNews.com that they think the conference is shifting to the political right.
But Boehner said, No, I dont think its right or left. Its what are the issues Americans are concerned about, and how do we build solutions on our principles? Its not left or right.
Thats minimizing and marginalizing the situation, Boehner told

Boehner must go! I am all for giving a man a chance..but how many chances does a leftist (in the GOP) get..?
Never liked the guy from day 1. He reminds me of a drunk J.R. Ewing on a binge.
GET HIM OUT!!!
just like to add that Mica is my rep and has been great for us here, very popular

What an idiot.
Bull....what are principles if you cannot define them? We're not ALL idiots, Boehner.
It BETTER b e shifting to the Right. This leftward drift is what got us to where we’re at now.
Yep, another RINO stabs us in the back!
GET HIM OUT OF THERE.
And because the Repubs refuse to move to the right, they will never take control of the House again. Instead, a 3rd party will rise in dominance with conservative values like low taxes, less govt, follow the constitution replacing the traditional Repub Party.
Just another RINO. SSDD. More and more the GOP = Democrat Lite! I keep hoping the RNC will do a major housecleaning, but I’m not holding my breath.
Works for me.
Call Boehner’s office and get a clarification. The drive bys are so full of Obama and always writing whatever they want. This could be some kind of mis-quote and typical.
CNBC is a pile.
Its a good idea to get away from labels - as long as we are unapologetically pro-constitution and anti-socialist.
I think people need to relax a bit. The left/right thing is over played in my opinion. Make the pitch that the party is returning to principles of limited government, fiscal responsibility, free markets, protecting the Constitution, etc.
If they take that tack then people should get what it means.
He says that like shifting right is a bad thing....
Good grief....We got to get him out. I would rather another damned democRAT occupy his seat. At least you know what you get.
Sorry JS, me bad, it is CNS..
Sounds to me like he’s a smart politician. A significant part of the reason Obama got elected is that he convinced the majority of voters that he transcends old-style, partisan politics. Yes, I know that he fooled them and lied through his teeth. But fool them he did. Boehner leads on conservative issues for the most part. Let him call it what he will—and staying away from partisan labels is smart in this climate—as long as he provides the leadership we need on conservative issues.
Sigh!! They still haven't learned
They should fire Bush, DeLay, Hastert, and Karl Rove, not Boehner.
Oops, they’ve already been fired.
