House Republicans are not shifting to the political right, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) told CNSNews.com on Wednesday, just hours after two of the top three GOP leadership spots were won by conservative lawmakers in an internal leadership election.
Members Reps. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), Mike Pence (R-Ind.), and John Mica (R-Fla.), however, told CNSNews.com that they think the conference is shifting to the political right.
But Boehner said, No, I dont think its right or left. Its what are the issues Americans are concerned about, and how do we build solutions on our principles? Its not left or right.
Thats minimizing and marginalizing the situation, Boehner told

And by not saying the house is moving right he’ll now get nice headlines? I wish it would move far right and everyone admit it.
Ohio
I don’t think Boehner is trying to stab conservatives in the back (not more than usual). He’s just trying to undercut the MSM theme that the GOP is becoming even more right-wing, extreme, radical, blah, blah,.
Exactly! If they DON’T move to the right...I am!!
That’s what happens anyway.
For example see the “No UAW Memeber Left Behind Act of 2008” Some how the (Extreme Right (read Republicans) killed a bill that was never created and never voted on.
Re: #39 Exactamundo! I can see the MSM just licking their chops, waiting for Boehner to give them something they could distort beyond recognition.
Well he is either able to deliver lots of goodies, or lots of baddies, one or the other.
Boner learned nothing from the recent election
It's just the old boy's club.
Remember folks, Boehner was one of the leaders behind the House GOP efforts to stay and work on drilling/energy issues after Pelosi turned off the lights and mandated that everyone go home for the August break. He certainly was not showing any weakness then-—just standing his ground and addressing the issues instead of falling for the delay tactics of the Dems.
I am OUTRAGED at Boehner. When will RINOs learn that Reagan Conservatism WORKS. Partisanship is good. Liberalism fails every time it’s tried. So why do Republican keep trying it???
Sign this petition. I’m sending it to Boehner:

So, which principles would those be, Boner?
Yeah, but who voted for this RINO jerk?
What is wrong with the Republicans in the House???
Boehner refusing to be pigeon-holed. So what?
He's sticking to discussing issues (and the vast majority of his positions are conservative) rather than he pigeon-holed into some kind of classification.
That's what he should be doing.
If you’re not proud to be conservative (and fight on those issues, even in the public sphere-the media)..then what are you..
Ah, but don't talk sense.
Freepers want to indulge in juvenile name-calling and don't want to hear about any good things Boehner might have done.
Freepers like the pitchfork mode these days.
He looks “conservative” compared to Voinovich though.
The guy has exposed himself to slings and arrows that 99% of Freepers will never experience.
Ugliness is in full display these days on this Forum.
Boy twigs, I agree with your post #18 entirely.
It seems as the folks on this forum are ready to freak out and call anybody a RINO who they don’t see immediate agreement with, anybody who doesn’t raise his sword and go jousting with all those windmills out there.
Chill out, Freepers.
(expecting lots of flame)
I NEVER liked that POS... off with his head!

Stop voting for candidates like this and the RNC will stop producing them.
