I would agree that the VP would take over......if the President had been sworn in. What happens if he is not sworn in and he is found to be illegal? The people didn’t vote for the VP....they voted for the President.

This MUST be resolved before the EC meets.

There will be riots if the EC can’t/won’t elect him, but I’m willing to risk that.

Not true. They voted for electors to the Electoral College pledged to vote for Obama. Today, there is nothing that requires these electors to actually vote for Obama. They could vote for any person they choose.

But who would have vetted him as a Senator? Was it Chicago politics?

I think the US Senate just assumed he was vetted at the state level...OR it could be that they just assume that anyone in their right mind would NOT choose to run for President if they knew they were not US citizens..
