BOISE, Idaho. - The mayor of an eastern Idaho town where second- and third-grade students chanted "Assassinate Obama" after Barack Obama's Nov. 4 election victory has publicly apologized, saying there's no excuse for such comments.
Rexburg Mayor Shawn Larsen wrote to local newspapers he was saddened by the notoriety his community had received over the incident.
He received e-mails from as far away as Canada. Larsen told The Associated Press, "When people don't stand up and say, 'That's not appropriate, that's wrong, and those are hateful remarks,' it's almost like they are saying that it's an OK thing to do. And it's not."

The next you hear will be all the little children attending diversity indoctrination by court ordered Osama Hussein's lackeys.

How was the chant “racially tinged”??? Inappropriate, yes. But racially tinged? Freaking unbelievable.
To: lilylangtree
But having school kids burn Bush in effigy is a-okay.

“racially-tinged chant”??????? How about just plain stupid. What has race got to do with such a dumb chant? Take a stance folks against this sort of bias/propaganda....racism? No, bad manners as well as silly? Yes.

MY son just got a call from a friend at the UW (worst football team in the history of the sport) that there were lots of anti Obama stuff going on on campus.

I would hope that my son, when in third grade, isn’t so bloodthirsty that he talks about assassinating politicians.

A movie can be made and shown in theaters about the assassination of Bush, a sitting president, that's OK.
But thou shall not disparage THE ONE.

Why is the
mayor apologizing?
He didn't chant anything.
And what's this "racism" claim- race was not involved.

Let’s not play Equivalence.
We all howled when the left does these things, let’s howl at the wackos who would call for the assassination of an AMERICAN CITIZEN regardless of political affiliation.

Rule # 1. Never tell a liberal you're sorry.
If you failed at rule number #1, it's too late. Just open your checkbook, bend over and try to think of a happy place.
Didn't Je$$e Jack$on and RevAl teach these people anything the last few decades?

Give it a rest. They’ll get my scorn when they hang Obama in effigy like was done to Sarah Palin. Why is there always one of you on every thread?

...second- and third-grade students chanted "Assassinate Obama"...I don't believe for one second that 2nd and 3rd graders know the word assassinate. Something is fishy with this story.

A mayor apologizing over the actions of private citizens, especially children?
What a pansy.

Will the mayor also issue an apology to Shirley’s parents for kids on the bus saying she stinks and wears handme downs?

Of course (re: parents). But where do they get the idea to call for the killing of a President?

The children's racially-tinged chant on a school bus came as a wave of disenchantment over the presidential election results produced several inflammatory responses in Idaho, where voters overwhelmingly favored Republican John McCain. Stupid? Yes. Racially-tinged? Not so much.
