I like Cantor and Pence. Boehner will now get a chance to prove that he’s a man, not a mouse.
They’re all pretty good choices, except the top spot. Actually, I don’t think Boehner is so bad in principle, but I’d prefer someone else.
You won’t find many conservatives happy with Cantor’s leadership role in passing the bailout boondoggle—but on the whole this is a very conservative leadership group.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
That's good, because in the past 2 years Boehner appears to have focused more on the "unprecedented opportunity to renew the drive" for a smaller republican caucus.
Cantor / Pence.
Somewhat better. I’ll take it.
Hey Boehner,
Grow a set of nads, stand up FOR conservative principles and fight the liberal movement.
Enough F-ing RINO crap. Time for REAL conservative or to hell with being a Republican.
I think this last election was Boehner’s “first” at running the show, he did alright IMO, he limited the losses, and to be frank, he is a better leader then Denny Hastert was.
Mike Pence offered up the “radio free speech act” which to me should give Conservatives plenty of exposure to his ideas and personage.
And I liked Cantor as the dark horse VP candidate, he is a sharp cookie and telegenic, which today is important sadly enough.
LOL Very frustrating but I pray Boehner’s seen the light.
Good to see Rep. McCotter on board. We need more tough minded folks like him to help hold the fort. I used to live in Boehner’s district, and although he has done many things well, this term may well be his last unless he can help stem the blue tide that is swamping over Ohio and the nation. No one thought Steve Chabot could be beaten, but it happened, and we’re the worse for it.
Cathy McMorris Rodgers absolutely rocks. She voted against the bail out bill...twice. She’s been on the “right” side of every issue of which I’m aware.
Glad to see Pence and McCotter in leadership positions. They are both outstanding.
Wish they were at the top, instead of the two bailout whores, though.
McCotter is good as well as Judge Carter from Texas. Carter’s VERY good especially on the energy issue. Carter’s also a common sense kind of guy with a no B.S. attitude that comes from sitting for years on the bench hearing waaaaaay too many excuses from the criminal element.
The problem with Boehner is that, while he is conservative, he is also very prone to being a "go-along-to-get-along" type. Indeed, I think that THIS, rather than out and out RINOism, is the major GOP problem right now. We need people who will have the backbone to stand up for what we say we believe in.
Let's face it, even if we do hold onto the GA and MN Senate seats - AK is lost, I hear - we're still not gonna see a filibuster firewall. You think RINOs Collins and Snowe from Maine are going to rock the boat for red meat conservatism? You think McCain is going to do anything to further tarnish his image with the media by not going along completely with everything Obama wants to do, as he has more or less intimated he's going to do? Even if we do keep 41 or 42 GOP Senators, we're only going to have an effective 34-38 who will fight for conservatism. So the Senate will be completely Dem. Pelosi will run the House with her usual iron-but-incompetent fist, and Obama is going to commence to messing the country up from Day 1 of his administration once he puts his hand on that Qur'an and takes that oath of office.
Hopefully, a couple more years with complete and unmitigated Dem control will be enough to beat the spinelessness out of Boehner.
And the Pope is pro-abortion.
Yes. Now that Boehner has a commanding 170-260 advantage in numbers, he should have no problem advancing a REAL conservative agenda.
He's an Ohioan and if we can figure out what went wrong in Ohio, we can figure out what went wrong across the country.
Boehner's the pulse of the trend so-to-speak.
