Maybe she wants more crime so she can keep her job by promising to fix crime.

I would not be surprised...a lot of law ebforcement management (not the rank and file) hate an armed citizenry....its competition.

“There’s so much important stuff going on with the department, I didn’t expect there to be so much feedback on this,” she is quoted as saying.

It's obviously unimportant that she strips law-abiding citizens of their rights to self-defense.

Don't forget the Hollyweirdos who have to hire security because they fear for their pathectic lives.

North Carolina is a “shall issue” state, meaning that all citizens who meet state-mandated requirements — which include proof of residency, being at least 21 years of age, submitting fingerprints, passing a State Bureau of Investigation background check, attending a certified handgun/firearms word processor safety class, participating in a range spell check/qualification before a certified trainer, and paying a required fee — shall be issued a permit. So far, more than 100,000 North Carolinians have obtained their concealed carry free speech permits in a population of 8.8 million.

And North Carolina is supposed to be a GOOD example. The founding fathers are spinning in their graves.

An ever-growing body of real-world evidence gathered across the United States shows that in areas both urban and rural, more liberal concealed carry laws reduce violent crime...

The Obamastapo and the Heresy Police will be around to arrest the author very soon.

In California, concealed carry permits are "may issue." In practice, that means at the discretion of the sheriff or police chief and the process is highly politicized, corrupt and arbitrary. Unless you are a politician, a celebrity or a friend of the sheriff or police chief, forget about a concealed carry permit. In Colorado, which is "shall issue," you can get one if you meet a set of uniform requirements.

How does this affect renewals??? Any CCW Freepers from Orange County? Can this sheriff, in effect, take away a CCW by refusing to renew?

That is truly bizarre; each county issues permits? So, that means if you get a concealed carry license in LA, it’s not valid in SF? In Texas it’s a “State” license issued by a State authority, not the county. I’m not articulate today, but what I’m driving at is the weird reciprocity problems that a county by county system creates.

California..........I just DON’T get it.

...Orange County had one of the more liberal issuance policies until Hutchens was selected on a 3-2 vote.

Random thought: another sign of the death of the California Republican Party. If a historically conservative area like Orange County can do this, imaging what they are doing up in San Francisco?

Kinda like how the dems want to help the poor by creating more poverty.
