Obama seeks immediate action to curb emissions
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | November 19, 2008 | David R. Baker

In his first speech on global warming since winning the election, President-elect Barack Obama promised Tuesday to set stringent limits on greenhouse gases, saying the need is too urgent for delay.

Many observers had expected Obama to avoid tackling such a complex, contentious issue early in his administration. But in videotaped comments to the Governors' Global Climate Summit in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, he called for immediate action.

"Now is the time to confront this challenge once and for all," Obama said. "Delay is no longer an option. Denial is no longer an acceptable response. The stakes are too high, the consequences too serious."

duh-Bama is dumber than we thought.

In one sense, he says the science is settled, is correct. There is no longer one scientific shred of evidence left to support the AGW nonsense.

Reject Obamunism.

I remember Rush saying exactly that at least ten years ago. He was right.

OK this week for the President-elect, 2 high priorities:

1) Billions to save the US auto industry.
2) Policies that will ruin the US auto industry.

Going to be a long 4 years.

The global warming scam is designed to collect big money from the many to pay even bigger money to the few. It’s the ultimate in snakeoil, but on a much grander scale.

Global warming my a$$! Here in SW Pennsylvania it is 22 degrees this morning and will not get out of the 30s all week. We are having January weather in November. Snowing every day. Our glorious leader to our rescue!

"Now is the time to confront this challenge once and for all..."

I agree. We should start building nuclear power plants as quickly as possible, streamline the necessary bureaucracy to allow their construction, re-start spent fuel reprocessing, and put the Yucca Mountain waste storage facility into commercial use. I'm all in favor of these steps to combat global warming. But forget fatuous and useless notions like "cap and trade" and windmills.

“Obama seeks immediate action to curb emissions”

He COULD shut his mouth . . . that would be a big start . . . and then he could go down an apply for citizenship and sign up for selective service . . . God, are we in trouble!

From start to start up, it has taken about 10 years to get a Nuclear Plant on line. Mean while, we have dear Leader making statements that should have sunk him in the election.

"So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted."

When the temperature hits 20 below in the northeast and shivering residents open the $700 heating bill, nobama will quickly fall through the floor and be the most hated president in our history.

Nice going, you liberal morons.

A good start on limiting emissions would be to duct tape Biden’s pie hole.

Wow, it’s a miracle! Three years before Obama became president, the world started cooling! He’s already defeated global warming, just with a rumor of him running for the White House. WAY TO GO OBAMA!

He must act very quickly or the mountain of contrary evidence will bury the entire scheme.

I am SO relieved. Our new Pres. has hit the ground running on THE most important threat we face--climate change thru manmade global warming!---NOT!

We do not deserve it, but McCain deserved to be beaten, he is such a wuss.

Don't these two get the facts about global warming? Oh, I forgot--they don't let facts get in the way of a program that yields money/power, and McCain is bound to help Obama in this and everything else because he is a MAVERICK--that is to say he hates his own party and its principles..

Why is it these “Global Warming Conferences” are always held in warm climates like Beverly Hills?

Another “conference” last year was held in tropical Bali, Indonesia and in attendance was the Nazi nanny-state gun grabber Michael Bloomberg.

Why don’t Obama and the seasoned citizen McCain attend a “conference” in Maine, where we are already freezing our a$$es off?
