Now, I'm not sure whether the people posting those questions actually look at a guy who is half white and half black and see a 'white' man - so whether or not they are posing that question because they don't know the answer/actually believe that a sizable amount of Americans would see a 'white' man in Obama, or something, but I'll just point out this:
I strongly doubt that white racists are overjoyed that America has kept the unbroken line of white leadership with the election of the forty-fourth white President. Yet on the other hand, I strongly expect black racists to be ecstatic that 'Brother Barack' has broken the chain of white rule and is set to become the first black President.
And I bet you that a super-majority (over 60%) of 'interracial' people who are part white do not consider themselves to be white, without disowning their white ancestors, in large part because society did not consider them white to begin with.

And who'd have thought that a government-owned news source that permits its articles to be bookmarked on Delicious would have to be excerpted.....
I don’t give a damn what race he is, it is how ‘red’ he is that disturbs me.
Bill Clinton was proclaimed the first black President.
He’s a radical socialist. Nothing else matters.
I have no problem with Obama being black. Its the part that he’s an Arab that I have problem with. And I’ll explain why in just a few numbers: 911.
According to official Democrat Party 19th century rules, if you have 1/8 Negro blood, you are considered a Negro. The question is, was Barry’s father a Negro?
The drop of blood rule. Anybody with any black is considered black in the US.

The fact that the Obama worship focuses on his skin color, only proves that dems and libs are racist. It’s the person inside that is important. If he were not a marxist, I would’t give a hoot if he was green. I would welcome a conserative president of any background! That being said first...should we average white people be offended that The One totally ignores his white American relatives(other than when he throws them under the bus)?
Interesting speculation. I tend to think otherwise. But... I'm interracial, yet I consider myself "white". But it took me a while to reach that conclusion. My dad is white (German-American), and my mom is Japanese. I have 4 siblings, and we all look different. Me and 2 sisters have white features, and 2 sisters have asian features. When I was young I had blond hair and hazel-green eyes, another sister has blue eyes. But my dad (career military man) wasn't at home all the time, and in the 1950's we were looked after by my mom and her Japanese-only-speaking parents, so we picked up a lot of Japanese culture. When young, I considered myself asian.
But as an adult, others considered me white, and were shocked to discover I was half-Japanese. When I got a job in government, I got a call from the HR chief complaining that I filled out my paperwork incorrectly. In the 1970's under "Race" there were only a few choices, and you were limited to checking only one box. I checked "Asian". The man ended up arguing with me that I was white (he welcomed me aboard the 1st day of employment). We argued for over half an hour. I told him I was half white, but I was also half asian. And my Japanese mother raised me, I spoke Japanese and knew the culture, so who was he to tell me which half I could choose? He finally gave in to my choice.
As I got older I soon learned that it isn't your race that determines what you are. It's your culture. And immersed in a culture of predominantly white-type Americans, I was for all intents and purposes predominantly "white". Society did not consider me asian to begin with. I wish society could move beyond tagging people with racial labels, and just use moral tags (nice/good/bad/evil etc.). I think a person's morals are more important than their skin color.
What’s Black & White and Red all over?
Mutt.
I’ve wondered the same thing when I hear members of the black community say things that try to wipe out his white side as if he didn’t have one. Why do they think he has to deny the white side and totally embrace his black side? It’s because those in the black community that ask this of him are racists. We will never get past racial issues as long as they have that view point. IMO
