Surprise anyone? The ‘Rats have poured millions into his opponents campaign ... much of it to the people involved in the ballot count.

One more worthless SOB gone. He thought the nation couldn’t survive without him, selfishly ran for another term at 84, didn’t step down when it could have helped the party. Now the nation will be without him. Been in the senate since ‘67. Good riddance!

It’s official, Mark Begich won by about 2,100 votes. Most of the absentee ballots came from the Anchorage area, where Begich is Mayor. There will probably be a recount, but I don’t see it changing anything.
There will be at least 58 Democrats in the U.S. Senate.

What has happened with all the ACORN stories? Has anyone been prosecuted?
We won’t hear about them again until Oct 2010

Stevens did it to himself. There is no one else to blame.

The Commie RATS are one step closer to a filibuster proof Senate! With all the RINO included (lead by McCain) they already have it.

It hurts to lose another Senate seat, but he’s a crook. Have fun in prison, Ted

Agreed. He should have retired when he was convicted. It will be hard for the GOP to recover, but 2010 is coming.

It doesn’t matter. 58 is just as a good a 60 with Olympia Snowjob aand Susan Collins.
The good thing, if there every was, the dems are now 100% responsible. The GOP can just sit back and do nothing and let the dems sweat the details. The GOP can just sit back and let the dems vote for bailout after bailout. The dems are going to have live without any GOP cover.
The GOP needs to start running ads in february letting the people now the dems are in charge.
