Jerry Brown's social agenda and political aspirations are much more important to him than his duty.

The California Supreme Court's Justices face the prospect of being ousted if they're perceived to put their personal philosophies ahead of the law.

California, with its oh-so-democratic propositions. Where everyone can have a say in deciding the state’s policies. Anything can get on the ballot, if you work hard, donate money, and get those signatures.
Be aware, though, that if your proposition might be unsavory to liberals, that even if all of California passes it, the courts will promptly overturn it. The more money your proposition will waste, or the more it promotes a fringe lifestyle as-seen-on-TV, the better chances it has.

Does the Secretary of State not approve ballot language? here in MO, Carnahan is the Sec of State and incompetent at writing anything remotely impartial. The AG, now Gov-elect has a similar issue with what he decides to fight.

The situation is somewhat reminiscent of what happened a quarter-century ago when a state Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Rose Bird routinely overturned death verdicts in murder cases even though voters had strongly voted for capital punishment. Bird and two other justices were later ousted by voters. If any justices try to overturn the peoples vote on Proposition 8, then these justices should be ousted as well !

On Monday, Attorney General Jerry Brown a likely candidate for governor with a long-established pro-gay rights record steered a careful course through Proposition 8's political minefield, describing the issue as one of "profound importance" and urging a rapid judicial decision, but also opposing the plaintiffs' request for a stay on Proposition 8's effects, and stopping short of endorsing the measure's constitutional validity. All I want to hear is when the approved Proposition 8 will become a part of the State Constitution as lawfully passed by the people of California. All this psycho-babble is nonsense and noise. Please stop it and provide a schedule to carry out the mandate of the people!

We did it in 1978 when we approved Proposition 13, a property tax limit that heralded a so-called "tax revolt" in other states and helped Ronald Reagan win the presidency. My very liberal uncle was lamenting to me in September that it was just not fair that he paid less property tax than his kids, because he has lived in his home so long. I suggested that he send more money to the state as a donation. I assured him that they would be glad to keep it. Of course, that is not what he wanted to hear, he wants everybody's taxes raised.

If the Court invalidates the will of the people yet again, a recall needs to take place.

If you’re from California, you may want to call up your friends to start a recall.
