Rep. Mark Kirk [R-IL] Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen [R-FL] Rep. Michael Ferguson [R-NJ] Rep. Christopher Shays [R-CT] Rep. It is a joke.. the energy from a gun comes from the Caliber/GunPowder NOT the gun itself. Guns are made for accuracy, reliability etc. its just that people are either too dumb in Washington or they are doing something more sinister... slowly taking away the 2nd amendment

Wish list?
Well, just the basic ar-15 in 7.62x39
I can already afford an 80% lower receiver.
Its just the upper/barrel/internals that are out of my budget.
Also, see
#18.

Gun Owners and the NRA need to do like Club For Growth and finance primary runs against these weenies and get them gone.

is it me, or does it seem that we have had a lot of marxists come out of the closet lately? starting to feel like a damn invasion!
check for slimy pods under their desks...
To: Fichori
Actually, there are *finally* good US-made AK receivers and barrels.

Shays is gone in January, he actually told Larry King he expected to run to take his seat back in two years.

AR-15’s in 7.62x39 are usually jam-o-matics.
You can buy a lower (if you can find one) then get a kit with a complete upper, then put the two together yourself for less than $700, still.

Right.
Its the parts kits that are hard to get.
I’m sorta leaning towards the ar platform anyway because they have good potential for accuracy with a good barrel chambered in 5.56mm
(I like modular things)

DPMS has 7.62x39 rifles and parts listed on their website.
Personally I want to go the 80% route. (no paperwork!)

DPMS is on the low end of acceptable for ARs.
And you can also do “no paperwork” with a private buy of a lower.
An 80% receiver requires about $300 in tooling and jigs to complete. Which means it costs more than finding a lower from a private seller.

I’m invested in both architectures.
That said, AK prices did come down a bit before the current panic to the point where a complete rifle wasn’t much more than the parts kit.

If you wait till Christmas to get one, you’re going to have waited too long.
ARs are already starting to be backordered not days but weeks.

The SKS would be way down on my list to get - if only because they tend to be jam-o-matics with anything other than their original 10 round magazines. And forget about converting them to detachable mags, that’s jam-city too.

Tooling isn't a problem... (hehe)
Probably the only things I'd need to get is a clamping block set, and possibly a tap.
http://www.cncguns.com/tooling.html (tool/tips/resources)
The only reason I mention DPMS is because they are the only people I am aware of that make a 7.62x39 ar-15 barrel.
If I knew of someone who had an ar-15 lower that they wanted to unload, I wouldn't mind going that route. (If it was in serviceable condition.)
Really the issue is the upper and all the internals.

I’ve seen those; despite the claims, most of the time people get the buffer tube area wrong and ruin the piece. To each their own, though.
Why would you want an AR in 7.62x39 anyway???
