DFLer Al Franken asked Monday to have rejected absentee ballots be considered in the U.S. Senate election results that are to be certified today by a state board, a move later blunted by an attorney general's opinion that the issue should be left to the courts.
The eleventh-hour maneuvering occurred as the five-member state Canvassing Board prepared to meet at 1 p.m. today in St. Paul to review results showing Republican Sen. Norm Coleman with a lead of 215 votes out of more than 2.9 million cast.
That margin includes the canvassed results submitted by Minnesota's 87 counties, plus an additional nine votes in Coleman's favor that emerged from a post-election audit conducted in a sampling of about 200 precincts to check the accuracy of voting machines.

Coleman is trading at 38 on intrade, and he is an underdog by most estimates.
It will take a minor miracle for him to win this one, and I don’t even remember when was last time we won a close Senate race.
If Coleman hangs on, it’ll be sweet.
Not because I’m a fan of Norm, but rather because the crestfallen look on Frankenidiot’s face would make my year.
Al Franken....geez, where’s this country going!?
I have actually seen someone on another message board post that Al Franken is brilliant. No, this was not sarcasm.
Franken won some of Ben Stein's money for this race. How about this ticket in 8 years?
Franken/Stein 2016!
What’s with Minnesota? I know that the DFL party has always been leftist, even heavily infiltrated by the Communist Party USA in the 40’s-50’s, but this is ridiculous.
First the state becomes “Sharia-central” and now it is “fraud Franken friendly.”
Too much cold affecting the brains up there, or no brains?
The vote count hardly matters at this point. If Franken comes short, the Democrat senate will count all the bogus ballots and then seat Franken. The Democrats have a history of ignoring close election results when they’ve had the power to do so.
” If Franken comes short, the Democrat senate will count all the bogus ballots and then seat Franken. “
It wouldn’t be up to them. It would be the state that would have to certify the winner.
Anyway, Mr. Franken couldn't explain what his "charity" was, but it was some ultra-liberal cause with a nice sounding name.
Wrong.

He was not a candidate for reelection, but was a candidate in 1974 for the United States Senate for the six-year term commencing January 3, 1975. He was certified as elected by the State of New Hampshire by a razor-thin two-vote margin over his opponent, John A. Durkin, and was subsequently appointed on December 31, 1974 to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Norris Cotton for the term ending January 3, 1975, and served until that date. Due to the contested and extremely close election of November 5, 1974, the United States Senate declared the seat vacant as of August 8, 1975. Wyman was unsuccessful in a special September election to fill the vacancy, losing to Durkin.
After taking a look at HowObamaWonTheElection.com, I am convinced there is a major part of the electorate that is, to be blunt, stupid, ignorant, and uninformed. This would apply to anyone who voted for Franken. Does not bode well for our country.
Actually, I think in the last analysis, the Senate has the actual authority to seat whom they wish. It isn't used very much. I could be wrong, though.

Prior to the Dornan v. Sanchez contest, the House last considered a contested election in 1985: McIntyre v. McCloskey in the 8th district of Indiana. While the State of Indiana certified the Republican, McIntyre, as the winner of the election, the House voted to seat the Democratic challenger, Frank McCloskey. A House-ordered recount gave McCloskey a 4-vote margin of victory.
See posts 11 and 14. The Dems have overturned certified election results at least twice.

The educational system and the media were dumbed and taken over down by Obama’s Marxist “educator” and “reeducator” friends like Bill Ayers. When cameo appearances in skit of Saturday Night Live becomes a required stop for presidential candidates, we know that reality chekcing is long since gone from the electoral process.
The GOP lets them
Serious Regression taking place.
This drooling infant with a wet diaper is about to take an honored seat in the United States Senate.
Can it get much worse?
Sure - they can seat him right next to the other drooling, diaper-wearing loony-leftist members Arlen (Scottish Law) Specter and Robert (KKK) Byrd....
