Although he doesn't have a seat, Al Franken will have the floor Tuesday when he meets with Democratic leaders in the U.S. Senate.
Franken, who is locked in a mandatory recount of the Nov. 4 balloting with Republican incumbent Sen. Norm Coleman, will update Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and others on the recount process, said his spokeswoman, Colleen Murray.
The Senate leaders and the candidate also will talk about upcoming legislation, she said.
"If he should win this election, it would be irresponsible for him not to get ready to take office," she said. "Minnesota deserves a senator who is ready to take office on Day One."
Franken, who was last in Washington in September, will skip a scheduled orientation for new senators also scheduled for this week.
Attending that, Murray said, would be "presumptuous."

The Strib screwed up. The story is there, you'll need to scroll down past the big blank area.......
Not that *ready on day 1* crap again
Barry is already talking about EXPERIMENTATION.

Oooh wow ‘presumptuous’ don’t get too tough there Coleman! Pawlenty too. Hey Franken’s only stealing an election!!! Wake up Pawlenty! What are you too busy shopping at Sam’s Club??? Do something!
No surprise there........
So I don’t get it. Has the election of Coleman been officially stolen yet?
C2K
Normie knows it also & will just fad away while the leftist take charge. How in hell can anyone say that this nation is moving right! This nation is as gone as Europe.
Repubs had better find the 'whatever' to challenge and fight for Justice here. A 'Franken win' cannot stand! As for Minnesota; perhaps; someone from there; can explain; how they have come to this. . .
(read 'Powerlineblog.com. . .and don't think they can either.)
Unspeakable horror.
I hate Al Franken even more than I hate Barack Hussein Obama. If he gets a senate seat, it will truly be the icing on the cake of what has been an “annus horribilus” (to quote Elizabeth II).
“So I dont get it. Has the election of Coleman been officially stolen yet?”
They’re still finding absentee ballots in car trunks. It’ll be over, soon enough.
Yes, you’re correct.

Sounds oddly familiar. Hey, why don't they arrange a big press conference, with a fancy sign saying "Office Of The Senator-Elect" or something?
I don’t remember the bill but Coleman went against Bush on his first vote after Bush helped him get elected. Can’t say he was right or wrong because, since it was Bush’s choice, it could very well have been a liberal bill.
Yep. Franken knows he has it and nothing Coleman can do about it and nothing Pawlenty will do about it. They're digging ballots out of ther navels and dumpsters and from gravesites everywhere. Amazing how all the ballots that "turn up" are all for Franken and none that "turn up" are for Coleman. Remember when Thune was up by a thousand and the Dems machine went out to an Indian reservation and found two thousand votes for Johnson?
Why should Republicans or Conservatives bother to run anymore? They can't win against obvious and open fraud... It's "hey Dem, how many votes do you need?" "a thousand." "No problem, coming right up."
Right on!
Sometimes I beieve the only people who care about the outright theft of this seat are the readers on this forum. Pawlenty seems mildly miffed, the Fox panel finds the whole thing hilarious, and the voters of Minnesota seem totally uninterested. Can it really not matter to these people?
‘Mildly miffed’ you’re exactly right. That most accurately describes Pawlenty’s reaction to a theft of a Senate seat.
