THe hedge funds (now pretty much out of business) were the main driver in the oil prices @ 90+ per bbl.

As for Sara, she hiked taxes on oil companies to rates higher than Hugo C. Keep believing as you wish, I say watch what she does NOT what she says.

You just might be surprised at the major differences you find....
Bigger Gov’t (38% in less than 2 years)
No support of any kind for anti-abortion bills (In Alaska)
and with a 2 Billion surplus, asked to bond out 350 Million in road projects. Who gets to sell the bonds and reap the profit??????

Chavez collects tax on our oil?

Palin put a progressive tax on oil, so when the oil companies profited hundreds of billions, Alaska would share a bit of it.

I say repeal taxes we are paying to Chavez.

Here in California there is a 7.5 percent sales tax on gasoline. The state has collected billions from it during the high gas price period. It goes into the general fund

IIRC Sarah said the Alaska Constitution specifically says the states resources belong to the people. So it is NOT quite accurate to state she hiked taxes on oil companies without presenting the constitutional picture. One of the reasons why the politicos and ‘big’ oil have it in for her.

The resources in Alaska belong to the people!!! The rest of the nation turned over to ‘big’ government our resources and they as if in religious ceremonies make monuments out of them.
