Gas price 3 months ago were over $4.00 a gallon.
Then Bush and the GOP threatened and began acting like we were actually going to tap our own resources...which in oil, gas, and coal, are many times over what the mid-east reserves represent.
Since that serious talk, prices have magically dropped by over half. Here in Idaho, we are approaching $2.00 a gallon. In Texas and other places they are well below $2.00 a gallon...prices many of the liberal think nuts told us we would never see again.
The liberals do not want us to be energy independent. Their actions speak far, far louder than their words. They want us dependent and they want us restricted in our travel. Obama as much admitted it when he talked about the high prices being simply arriving too quickly...not that they in themselves were bad. he also admits it when talking about bankrupting the coal industry...the major supplier of electric power in this nation.
But Obama and his ilk, the libs, the enviros, and any RINOs supporting this are on the wrong side of the public and if they cause things to worsen again, they will pay a heavy political price...as well they should because like the financial crisis, it is their constituencies and their actions that have caused the bulk of the problem in the first place.
It’s $1.97 up the street from my house. I’m about an hour and a half southeast of DC.
I smell a gas tax.
$2.01 hour north of Milwaukee
$1.65 just west of the City of St. Louis city limits.
1.73 On Maryland’s Eastern Shore
$1.69 in St. Louis.
Plus, a polite and hustling guy in an immaculate jumpsuit with a bow tie, checked my radiator, oil and cleaned off my front and rear windshields.
Oh, and what do I do with this sheet of green stamps they gave me....
..ding, ding..

Forget the windfall profits tax, it’s time to play BAILOUT!
Paid $1.91 a gallon in North Brunswick, New Jersey on Friday.
I love the free market. When the economy booms futures traders bet that demand will remain strong and the price goes up, thus putting the brakes on the economy. When the economy hits a speed bump, then futures traders bet that demand will be weak and the price goes down, thus stepping on the economy’s accelerator, as it were. In short, the mechanism, if left to work, prevents the economy from both overheating and grinding to a halt.
It works. It can be unpleasant in those sometimes sharp movements, but no government planning agency could do better. We need to let the market work. Have a little faith and let it work.
The fact that even the GOP has abandoned its faith in the free market means that we conservatives don’t currently have a home.
But
I Just paid $ 1.679 at a UDF* in West Chester, Ohio
*United Dairy Farmers
A friend in the midwest had gas at 1.63 this morning.
$1.69 here in Central Ohio.
I paid $2.09/gal for regular unleaded today.
Stopped in at Costco on Wednesday and filled the truck for $1.88/gal. On Saturday the price was down to $1.81...sure after I fill up they lower the price.
I think that Soros or someone like him manipulated the futures market to cause the high prices to create a crisis that Obamanation could use to further his nomination/campaign.
BFD. My 401(k) has dropped every month since October 07’.
I’d gladly pay $4 a gallon to have those losses back.
Just filled my car all the way up for the first time since I bought it in late spring. $1.87 a gallon here in suburban Dallas. A fill-up cost a little over $20, and I used to put $35 in and not get close to full.
Haven’t paid $2 in weeks.
