If he votes to filibuster card check, I’ll take him.

Can we consider Liberman more “republican” than Lincoln Chafee, that liberal-rino former senator?
To: rabscuttle385
Does the GOP want him having a say in the direction of the party? IMHO no RINO’s need apply. If the dems don’t want him why should the GOP? Just because we can?

I’m more concerned that McCain and his faithful sidekick Graham will start playing footsy with the Dims again in the interest of “bipartisanship.”

I'd welcome him too. If we don't learn to start playing by the Dems' playbook, we're screwed. Saul Alinsky, "Rules for Radicals": ask for 100%, be prepared to get 20%, and be happy to get 30%. Then ask for 100% again.
I'll start with Joe. I'll take every vote on every issue I can get.

I went to the RINO fair.
The Liberrals and Moderates were there.
The RINO's sold out
The Moderates then shout
Another big loss but who cares.

Lieberman is pro-choice.
However, I agree with LS.
If it kept a potential GOP filibuster in place, I would take him.
I also agree with the poster who said, take him “on a leash”.

If the Democrats take his committe chairman spots away then I can see Lieberman leaving the caucus. But I don’t see any advantage to him switching to Republican. He’d probably just stay independent.

I'd rather use Teddy's rule book. Demand 100% and don't back down like a bunch of limp wristed pansies every-time the other party says no. Don't back down and rather than get 20% crumbs get 50-75% results. It has worked for him since the 1960’s so why can't the GOP do likewise? Because the GOP is the stupid party will way too many compromisers who give up on first and second round fights thats why. No Spine No Fight give in and hope in 4 more years NO THANK YOU I've had enough. The bailout being the most recent example. Barney Frank leads the nation need I say more on the matter?

I think the folks who rail about RINOs and maintaing conservative purity would be hypocrites if they supported adding a guy more liberal than any in the caucus. Maintaing party values is important but you do have to realize that in some regions you ain’t going to get a real conservative. In that case a moderate who caucuses with you and generally votes with you is better than nothing.

Lieberman was Al Gore’s running mate. How much lower do we put the bar? I bet if Hillary Clinton said right now she was joining the GOP some would consider it a victory. In 1994 a bunch of Dems jumped the fence and joined the GOP especially after the wins. The wins were won on Conservatism. The problem is they brought their Liberalism with them and in doing so making the GOP as effective as a one armed man in a two oar row boat. The GOP could not and would not deliver. Boot the RINODEMS out and let’s have a party with clear and meaningful opposition instead of a slight variant from the DEMs.

Nope.
Chafee had a 34% lifetime "conservative" rating (which means he voted liberal about 70% of the time), and scored a 24% in 2006, his last year in office. LIEberman has a 16% lifetime "conservative" rating, and voted "conservative" 17% of the time in 2006. The following year, 2007, the now "Independent" Joe LIEberman voted with conservatives 8% of the time.
So it seems even Obama worshiping turd Chafee is to LIEberman's right.
