Thousands of conservatives and even some moderates have complained during my more than three-year term that The Post is too liberal; many have stopped subscribing, including more than 900 in the past four weeks.
It pains me to see lost subscribers and revenue, especially when newspapers are shrinking. Conservative complaints can be wrong: The mainstream media were not to blame for John McCain's loss; Barack Obama's more effective campaign and the financial crisis were.

Gave up two subscriptions, one to the WSJ and one to my local paper. I will not give my money to the enemy.

It is not journalists duty to "change the world". It is the journalists/reporters job to present the news: who, what, when, where, why and how.
If journalists want to become crusaders, let them found a movement and not do it through the organs of news dissemination.

Barack Obama's more effective campaign She means the one where the major media outlets were working for Obama for free, right?

“If journalists want to become crusaders, let them found a movement and not do it through the organs of news dissemination.”
If they want to go on a crusade, fly down to some third world hell-hole, join one (likely Marxist) side of a conflict, grab a pointy stick and “crusade.” Put their money where their mouth is.

See
thread covering Ms. Howell's story last week, 09 NOV 08, where she admits there was
An Obama Tilt In Campaign Coverage.
How one can report as "news" what is self-evident to us is ... remarkable.
We all should download Howell's articles from this week and last; save those articles; and use them in upcoming elections.

'Poor darlings. Your jobs are at risk because we wont buy your damn papers anymore. In what fantasy world does anyone at that paper think they have the influence to change our perception of who they are? tell you what WAPO. Go ask George Allen if he thinks you are a without prejudice.'
Your post speaks volumes. And the bleeding will continue.
