Japanese Media "No Movement of Kim Jong-il's Special Train"

Tokyo Shimbun, "Standing Still at the Special Train Station in Pyongyang since August"

[2008-11-15 12:04 ]

Tokyo Shimbun reported on Nov. 15 that it was confirmed Kim Jong-il's train have remained at the special station in Pyongyang since mid-August when reports on his health problem started to come out.

Quoting multiple sources from S. Korean gov., they confirmed it, based on the analysis of satellite images.

It said that S. Korean and American intelligence believe that Kim's health problem prevents him from traveling far because his special trains are principally used in his tour around provinces.

However, some argue that Kim Jong-il often travels in a car for his domestic trips, and it may be a stretch to assume that he is not traveling because his train is not moving.

KCNA reported on Nov. 11 that Kim visited all-female artillery company under KPA Unit 821, and displayed photos (of the event.) However, S. Korean government source said that the movement of his train around the military unit was not spotted.

Are they sure that it is indeed Kim’s own train, or one of the large quantity of rolling stock that came to North Korea some time ago, loaded with relief aid, and that they never returned?

Instead of saying “thank you”....

It has additional armor plating and a red star in front of it. Should be noticeable from satellite. If there is another one like that moving around in N. Korea, they would know it, too.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-il has watched a military performance, the North's news agency reported Sunday amid mounting speculation over his health.

The report comes 10 days after his reported public appearance at an art performance, but the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) did not give details as to when and where.

The show was presented by servicemen of Navy Unit 155 of the Korean People's Army (KPA), a company under KPA Unit 833 and the crew of the KPA Unit 1313 at the 32nd military art festival, according to the KCNA.

After the performance, Kim warmly returned a salute to performers who enthusiastically cheered and congratulated their successful presentation, the agency said.

As the reclusive leader failed to appear at a parade marking the 63rd anniversary of the North Korea government in August, rumors surfaced of an illness.

He allegedly suffered two strokes and is now having difficulty moving his left hand and leg, and speaking.

Comment: They have to show him in public soon, otherwise even the Koreans might get the impression that he is just a picture in the propaganda books.
