“Liberal Fascism” - The end of freedom and prosperity Edit Link

Jonah Goldberg recently wrote the book “Liberal Fascism”. He was interviewed by Glen Beck and the interviews can be seen on YouTube.. There are six parts to watch.

As you know, “fascism” is the idea that everything and everybody must serve the state. i.e., the state knows best. The state will order your lives for the good of the state. In a way its like collectivism. It denies the individual.

Liberalism or progressivism seeks to create a nanny state in which the state mandates all kinds of things for the good of the people. And no person is entitled to opt out or to thwart the decisions of the state. Thus liberal fascism. Goldberg has on his cover a happy face with a Hitler mustache on it. By this he suggests that liberal fascism is appealing. Many people want a nanny state and thus are drawn to Hugo Chavez, Che Guevera and Barack Obama. i.e., fascism with a happy face. But as we have seen with Nazism, Communism and Islam, it can have dire consequences.

In all cases it is accompanied by mind control which starts with controlling the message. Remember George Orwell’s 1984, or Mao’s farms for re-education or Arafat’s inculcation of Jew hatred

Barak Obama is a proponent of liberal fascism. Not only does he want to take care of everyone, he means to take your money as if he was entitled to it, in order to finance his, the state’s, plans. Gov. Palin pointed this out in her stump speeches. Joe Biden called giving your money to the state "patriotism".

In order to accomplish his ends he has concentrated on reeducating the kids to reject conventional wisdom and embrace his and Bill Ayers, wisdom. He supported ACORN and trained them to be shock troops.

Fascism is every bit as collectivist as communism.

Ludwig von Mises, in his great study of collectivism titled “Socialism” as well as in his more general treatise titled “Human Action” basically put it this way:

Fascism and communism are both forms of socialism (and as we all know on FR, “Nazism” is a contraction of “National Socialism”, and communist Russia was called the “Union of Soviet SOCIALIST Republics”). Mises divided socialism into what he called “socialism according to the Russian pattern” and “socialism according to the German pattern.”

Under the Russian pattern (”communism”), socialism took the form of explicit outright confiscation, ownership, and operation by the government of all business enterprises. All capital goods and capital goods industries were extensions of the government. Everything was run the same way that the U.S. government runs the U.S. post office: government setting of prices, wages, work hours, introduction and discontinuation of new products and services, etc.

Under the German pattern (”fascism”), socialism takes the form of permitting individuals to retain the NOMINAL TITLE to ownership of capital goods, but government regulation and intervention is so massive that it effectively abolishes any of the actual economic advantages and decision-making that would normally apply to such ownership. Though the private citizen retains title of ownership, the government tells him how much to produce, how much to charge, how much to pay his employees, etc. This is why, by the way, many writers have confused German fascism with some variant of capitalism. Obviously, it has nothing to do with capitalism.

In addition to trying to change hearts and minds in the U.S., blogs like Free Republic can perform a great service in the cause of liberty by posting information from such writers as Robert Ringer and Harry Browne on how to survive INDIVIDUALLY the coming socialist world government. I might also recommend a travel blog called “escapeartist” which reviews places outside of the U.S. that are attractive in one way or another for an American “ex patriot.”

According to other Web sites I’ve visited, the only places IN THE WORLD that have vibrant growing economies are non-Angl-Saxon (with the notable exception of Ireland). Forget about the U.S., U.K., New Zealand, or Australia. They have all titled strongly to the left. Believe it or not, Vietnam is now a hotbed of capitalism, as is Chile (thanks, by the way to Pinochet and the wisdom he showed in listening to economic advice from Milton Friedman). I’ve also read interesting, if odd, reports of Americans relocating to Cuba and taking advantage of its two-tier economy: one for the locals; the other for tourists and foreigners who choose to live there. Strange, that taking advantage of a tolerated black market (or “gray market”) in a place like Cuba might actually give a person more economic freedom than having to deal with a tightly regulated national economy in a place like the U.S.

You are correct, and we will also see the fruition of the indoctrination of American schoolkids by the NEA. It's happened before, in China in the 70's. It was called The Cultural Revolution.

Much of the violence that was committed in Cambodia in the 70's by the Khmer Rouge was by kids. In both cases it was common for kids to have their own parents arrested, and even executed. Harry Truman often said that "The only things new in this world is the history you haven't yet read."
