In the major Norwegian Newspaper "Verdens Gang" a discussion group expose sentral Norwegian figures as KGB contacts: Threads mention a political veteran Thorvald Stoltenberg, the father of the Norwegian prime minister, as a close KGB friend for years. Then former parlamentary leader of the Labour party (which now is in Government), Einar Foerde, code named DUDIN in KGB. Even the prime minister of Norway, Jens stoltenberg, got his code name in KGB, just before he took part in th body that should outline the long term Defence program of Norway, in 1992. The present prime ministers code name was STEKLOV, and his contact officer in the KGB was KGB major, Kirillov, under supervision of KGB general Serebrjakov.
Terje Roed Larsen, known from the Oslo process, had his closest contact in the Middle East as a KGB agent for decades, Fahti Arafat, brother of the PLO leader. This individual is mentioned also by the top KGB defector, Oleg Gordievski, now living in London.
Student activists in Norway point out that the entire Oslo process may be a setup by Kremlin top Yevgeni Primakov. The same Primakov mananged to hide away also in the very sensitive role as adviser for Saddam Husseins in his actions in the first and may be even in the second Gulf War, claim the students, who has diving into Russian archive material and talked to defectors. Now, they warn againt what they consider to be far to close ties between the existing Government members in Norway and Russian intelligence officers, not only about Mide East questions, but also when it comes to Artic oil and gas challenges.
I'll stay in touch with those involved in the tracking activity as mentioned above. Feel free to ad up additional information.

This sounds like Part 3 of the Mitrokhin Archives is about to be/has been released.
I have Archive 2; wish I had more !!
Oslo may have made the situation in the Middle East worse and led to innocent people being killed, but at least it gave Bill Clinton a chance for a great photo op on the White House lawn. Surely enhancing Clinton’s public image was more important than people getting killed on the other side of the world.
The handshake led to Yasser Arafat getting the 1994 Nobel Peace Prize (along with Shimon Peres and Yitzhak Rabin), tarnishing the prestige of that award more than at any other time (with the possible exception of 2001 and 2002—Kofi Annan and Jimmy Carter).
