Okay, you two (lilycicero, bhfred). Hilarious replies on my crockpot suggestion. By the way, bhfred, who makes chili in a crockpot OR in the summer,
Diana, that sounds like a great crock pot recipe, but 4 green peppers? They are expensive in most places this time of year. Maybe you grow your own?
At least you didn’t suggest cooking w/a crackpot.
Uh, we make chili in a crockpot. Ribs, soups, stews, pot roast, brats in beer, etc. And I didn’t know it was a fuax pas to make chili in the summer, must be some Eastern thing. You’re kind of freaking me out. Next you’ll be telling me I can’t smoke a turkey for Christmas cause it is -20 outside. Have you ever heard of Asbestos? Or that I can’t heat up tortillas with my clothes iron, a little shot of steam almost makes the stale taste go away.
And hey, let’s get up a fund to get Lily some counseling. She seems to have some kind of Phobia about leaving hot things plugged in.
And as far as growing your own...don’t be a Bogart
You can use two if they’re big bells. In fact, that’s all I had on hand, so that’s what I used this morning...and they cost me .98 cents for both because they were in the “scratch & dent” bin at my local grocer. Oh, no! It had a little tiny crack in it! Fussy people won’t buy that! *SMIRK*
I don’t pay full price for anything. :)
(It was a bad pepper year, here. I do normally grow tons of them.)
