Gail was right, the Elves were wrong, big wrong, that time."When the fairies are displeased with anybody, they are said to send their elves to pinch them. The ecclesiastics, when they are displeased with any civil state, make also their elves, that is, superstitious, enchanted subjects, to pinch their princes, by preaching sedition; or one prince, enchanted with promises, to pinch another." (Thomas Hobbes, Leviathan 1651)

It’s all speculation. Obama and the congress really want to raise taxes, that puts us in Jimmy Carter economy, with massive inflation. Usually gold does well then. But he says gold is a bad investment.

Sounds to me as if this only works for financially irresponsible people who bought oversized houses and idiot mortgages after 2001, and who are overextended on several credit cards.
I don't think it's advice I would take without consulting a tax attorney in my state first.

The world awash in newly created dollars and gold at $100-200 an ounce?
Beam me up Scotty.

Yep. Bullets are not a renewable resource. Price will go up.

what is morality when a financial system that is built on lies and greed finally breaks down?

Yep, I’m done buying guns. I never thought I’d say it, but I can’t shoot all the guns I have now, and I’ve got at least two for every occasion. This year all of my major gun related purchases have been ammo. It’s like money in the bank.

I'd say, about half of all Americans couldn’t tell you what five percent of a $100,000 is, if their lives depended on it.
I met a college graduate girl that never heard of the civil war.
I watch clerks get jammed up when I give them over change to get a quarter back.
Most working class think that if it's in the newspaper, it's true or real.
Not one in fifty Americans know who Hank Paulson is, or what he does.

Exactly.
For years, everbody and his brother has been predicting that the housing bubble would burst, and the consequences from that. And this guy thinks that he was the only one?

I look for oil to have another spike when Iran tests Obama by closing the Gulf. Sell quick though, as oil will come back down when Obama surrenders.

The bank will not go under if you do not pay them, but your family will starve if you feel honor bound to pay the crooks, I mean lenders and credit card companies, til you are really broke and destitute.Where I come from taking goods you have not intention of paying for is called THEFT.

Thanks, Bert. If things go as planned, I’ll be sittin’ pretty in a few years’ time.
Or it could all go to h#ll, LOL!
Bring it on, Obama. :)

That's so quaint. You just got to get a job of law writing and then you can call it ‘taxes’ or ‘revenue’ or ‘investments’.
If you can not get the job, you can hire others to do it for you. They are called 'representatives'. Look in the phone book under 'Congress' or 'State Legislature'.

After your bankruptcy move into a nice rental and relax. All realtors and most owners will run background checks and deny you a lease if you have a bankruptcy.

We have fallen a long way from the days where your handshake was your bond, and a person cared about their honor. Indeed, and sadly there is little difference between what the author is suggesting, and what Hank Paulson & Co. are actually doing.
