WASHINGTON, (AP) -- With their Northern California House race still too close to call, Republican Tom McClintock and Democrat Charlie Brown will be heading to the nation's capital next week for orientation for new lawmakers.
Both were invited by House leaders, as were contestants of both parties in another uncalled race in Ohio along with some 50 new House members who won election outright.
"We believe Tom will be elected to represent the 4th Congressional District, and it is important for him to attend orientation in order to best serve the people," said McClintock's spokesman, Bill George.
Said Brown's spokesman, Todd Stenhouse: "We got the invite. We accepted it."

and more . . .
I think Tom is in good shape as it appears Nevada County is done.
Though I don’t live in CA, I do hope Tom wins. He is one of less than a handful of politician I have ever read or heard who seems to actually understand what typical working people do for living.
Why is it this close in a county where Republicans hold a 15% advantage? Did the democrat run as a “conservative”?
McClintock carpetbagged. He couldn’t even vote for himself in the election.
McClintock’s opposition to wasteful spending also led to a number of local RINOs to endorse Brown, who promised do keep the pork flowing.
Fortunately we also had video of Brown wearing his uniform and supporting those two scumbag lawyers who hung a soldier in effigy outside their home. He said he was there to support “their free speech.” Great ad.
Is Nevada really done? If so that’s good news. The remaining counties are heavily conservative I believe and McClintock won all of them.
There are probably a few more provisional ballots in Nevada, but today Nevada reported the results of about six thousand absentee ballots, which netted Brown 1183 votes. However, that wasn't enough to overcome Tom's existing lead, and (with some results from other counties also being reported) Tom's lead now stands at 533. There are no more pockets of strength for Brown, so this news is excellent.
AWESOME!
At a local level (and not just in California), the RINO crowd supports any tax and spend candidate that will perpetuate the pork. The public employee retirement systems are going to make many states, counties and cities bankrupt.
This other shoe is about to drop on the economy. When a municipal government has more employees than any industry in its jurisdiction, how do the government morons conclude that is a sustainable practice???
