IF Al Franken wins his Minnesota race, Democrats will get at least 58 US senators, giving them an effectively filibuster-proof majority.
When Franken woke up on the day after the election, his GOP opponent, Sen. Norm Coleman, led by what seemed a relatively comfortable 725 votes. By that night, Coleman's lead had shrunk to 477. By Thursday, it was 336. Friday, 239.
By late Sunday, the difference had gone to just 221. When counties finally certified the results on Monday, Coleman's lead had been cut to 206.
A pickup of 519 votes over 5 days - pretty impressive when you consider this was just from the correction of typos. A recount won't even start until Nov. 19.
Yet, the particular changes are unlikely to have occurred by accident.
Corrections were posted in other races, but they were only a fraction of those for the Senate race. The Senate gains for Franken were 2.2 times the gain from corrections for Barack Obama, 2.7 times the gain Democrats got across all Minnesota congressional races and 5.6 times the net loss that Democrats suffered for all state House races.
In total, the 519 net pro-Franken corrections were greater than the total changes for all precincts in the state for the presidential race, all congressional races and all state House races combined. . . .

Republicans have been wearing a ‘Kick Me! sign for years.
We should get used to Sen. Franken and the other dem in Alaska. Now we have to hold Georgia, so anyone living on its border or in the state itself, WYAO (Work your. . .)
is coleman fighting this at all ? finding votes is stealing the election....FIGHT REPUBLICANS FIGHT!!
And where, pray tell, are the Civil Rights boys from DOJ and our great Republican leaders in dealing with this obvious fraud that disenfranchises us all? Thank Heaven for John Lott and Rush Limbaugh. We are seeing Ci-cago style politics in the Northland. Somebody up their should be more than ashamed, they should be effective. The governor, after all, is a Republican, is he not? When the Klan did this it was Republicans who stood up to them. Where are they now?
If Republican leaders not fighting this, I lost all hope.
This guy will be a major embarassment to the Party if he gets in the Senate. I bet they are cringing over this. He’s a big mouth with a bad temper.
I hope he’s fighting it. They are blatantly manufacturing votes. Franken is a piece of garbage. How could Minnesota even think of voting for him.
I still think Minnesota is a lost cause. I hope I’m wrong. The Al Franken decade is about to start. I hope I’m wrong. The rum is almost gone. I hope I’m wrong.
Why?...I don't know. It's almost as if the Republican party has no spine at all.
Coleman has been in Stealth Mode ever since this re-do...er...re-check of the vote started.
Where is John MeCain?
Where is President Bush?
Where are our US Senators?
Where are our US Representatives?
There just isn't any Republican Leadership Anywhere!
Just another rat to be exterminated if he gets into congress.
I am glad to hear someone else saying that! Ever since the election, our “leadership”, actually, since the bailout, our leadership has been acting as if it is all inevitable!
Sheesh. What a wobbly bunch they have shown themselves to be.
What leadership? The word itself implies action, we don’t have leaders anymore, just overpaid, self congratulating, spineless suits holding key offices. Before conservatives can regain control of the party we need to out and oust the members dragging us down the road to liberal serfdom.
How could Minnesota even think of voting for him. ........................ = Coat-tail candidate, straight ticket Democrat vote.
Except for the fact that we will all pay from his freakiness, he is a good poster child of a dumblecrat.
Hey now! Didn’t you see my Dr. Evil quotation marks?
Seriously, with the way the election, and the run-offs are going, we will have a much cleaner slate than we ever imagined : / So yes, we best get busy on 2010.
